The winter holiday is approaching, and people will travel and enter restaurants and entertainment venues, at which time it is likely that they will need to show a vaccine certificate. People who want to show that they are fully vaccinated on Thanksgiving, Hanukkah (Jewish holiday) or Christmas need to hurry up.

According to pix11, full vaccination requires advance planning. Of the three vaccines available in the United States, Pfizer and Modena require two doses before and after, with a few weeks between the first and second doses.

Here's how long it takes to get from the first dose to full vaccination:

Moderna: Six weeks (28 days apart for two doses)

Pfizer: five weeks (21 days apart for two doses)

Johnson & Johnson: 2 weeks (only a single dose required)

To be deemed to have been vaccinated in time for the holidays, you must receive your first dose of Moderna or Pfizer or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson by the following dates:

Thanksgiving Day (25 November)

October 14: Moderna

October 21: Pfizer

November 11: Johnson & Johnson

Hanukkah (starts on November 28)

October 17: Moderna

October 24: Pfizer

November 14: Johnson & Johnson

Christmas Day (25 December)

November 13: Moderna

November 20: Pfizer

December 11: Johnson & Johnson
