Since the 1994 World Cup, FIFA has officially selected the best goalkeeper of the World Cup and awarded the "Yasin Award". The previous World Cup Best Goalkeeper generally refers to the goalkeeper in the best squad of the tournament.
The Golden Glove of the World Cup, formerly known as the Yashin Award of the World Cup, has been awarded to the best goalkeepers of every World Cup since 1994. It has been awarded six times so far, and the winners are all European players, including Fabian Batez of France, Oliver Kahn of Germany, Manuel Neuer, Gianluigi Buffon of Italy and Iker Casillas of Spain, all of whom have reached the Final of the World Cup. In 1994, FIFA decided to establish the Yashin Award, which is awarded to the best goalkeeper (goalkeeper) at the quadrennial World Cup. FIFA named the prize Yasin Prize in honor of the late Lev Yassin, a famous door god of the former Soviet Union. The award was renamed the Golden Glove Award at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Lev Yashin (22 October 1929 – 20 March 1990) was born in Moscow, Soviet Union,[1] a famous Soviet footballer, best goalkeeper of the 1950s and 1960s, and the greatest goalkeeper in the history of world football,[1] who played for Dynamo Moscow. [2] Pele once spoke highly of his performance: "To break yassin's goal, you need to work twice as hard. ”
In 1970 , The English Football World voted the world's best player , with Yassin only second after Pele , and in 1963 Yassin was elected European Footballer of the Year , the only goalkeeper to have won the award. Another amazing record for Yassin is that he has saved a total of 150 penalties in his football career. On May 27, 1971, Lev Yassin announced his retirement.
On March 20, 1990, Lev Yassin died of stomach cancer at the age of 60. In 2000, he was named the goalkeeper of the century by FIFA.
