[Looking at China along the highway] Qinghai Taratan Photovoltaic Industrial Park: it is both a power station and a ranch

Zhongxin Network Qinghai Gonghe, June 18 (Qi Zengbei) "Photovoltaic power plant construction here, the batch laying of photovoltaic panels so that the park wind speed decreased, evaporation decreased, air humidity increased, grassland culvert water increased significantly, to a certain extent curbed the expansion of desertification extension." On the 17th, the staff of the Taratan Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province told reporters.

With an average altitude of 2920 meters, strong sunlight radiation, and up to 8 hours of daylight, Tara Beach is indeed not suitable for the growth of plants, but it is a unique advantage for photovoltaic power generation.

In 2012, the largest photovoltaic power generation base in China, the Taratan Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Gonghe County, was put into construction in Taratan, Gonghe County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province.

At the same time, sheep pens were built in the industrial park, and local herders were hired to raise sheep and graze, and the former vast Gobi was "transformed" into a grassland pasture.

"In the past, it was the Gobi Desert that could not be seen from the edge, but now the grass grows very well, we graze in it, the sheep are full of food, they grow fat, and we are happy." LanCuo, a herdsman who is grazing in the Taratan Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is deeply touched.

"The longer the grass, the better, sometimes blocking the work of photovoltaic panels, and in the winter there is a fire hazard, so we still invest in hiring herders to clean up the weeds every year." Tang Jing, deputy director of the press center of the Yellow River Upstream Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., said that since 2012, the vegetation coverage rate of the park has increased by 15%.

In fact, in addition to being invited into the park to herd sheep, surrounding villagers can also broaden their income channels by cleaning photovoltaic modules, cutting grass, doing security, etc., and get rich.

In addition, in Tara Beach, there is also the world's largest Longyangxia water-photovoltaic photovoltaic power station with an installed capacity of 850,000 kilowatts.

In view of the intermittentness, volatility, randomness and other problems of photovoltaic power generation, Qinghai uses advanced hydro-photovoltaic complementary adjustment technology to send photovoltaic power here to Longyangxia Hydropower Station to adjust unstable photovoltaic power into a balanced, high-quality and safe stable power supply.

"Although photovoltaic power generation is good, it has been facing the dilemma of 'relying on the sky to eat', there are intermittent, volatile and random problems, and now with the water-light complementary coordinated operation control system, photovoltaic power generation can be converted into safe and stable high-quality power." Wu Shipeng, deputy manager of the project department of the Gonghe Industrial Park of the Photovoltaic Maintenance Inspection Company of the Upper Reaches of the Yellow River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd., told reporters.

At present, this water-light complementary photovoltaic power station can generate 1.494 billion kWh of electricity a year, corresponding to thermal power generation equivalent to saving 464,600 tons of standard coal a year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1,226,600 tons, sulfur dioxide by 45,000 tons, and nitrogen oxide emissions by 22,500 tons, creating a good social and ecological environment benefit.

As of the end of May this year, the total installed capacity of Qinghai power grid was 40.5 million kilowatts, of which 11.93 million kilowatts of hydropower, 15.91 million kilowatts of photovoltaics, 8.53 million kilowatts of wind power, and 210,000 kilowatts of solar thermal power, the proportion of new energy installed capacity and centralized photovoltaic power generation ranked among the top in the country。 (End)
