Sima Dewen was the first to be conferred the title of Evil King of Lang, and was later given the titles of General of the Chinese Army, General of the Scattered Horse, General of Wei, And Three Divisions of Kaifu Yi, Jia Shi Zhong, Ling Situ, and Lu Shangshu Liushi. When Emperor An of Jin was deposed by Huan Xuan, sima Dewen and Emperor An of Jin both resided in Xunyang; after Huan Xuan's defeat, he was moved to Jiangling.

  Sima Dewen,Emperor Gong of Jin (386–421), was the last emperor of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. He was the son of Emperor Xiaowu of Jin and the younger brother of Emperor An of Jin.

  After the Huanxuan Rebellion, Liu Yu came to power, and Sima Dewen knew that Liu Yu had attempts to usurp the throne and kill Emperor An of Jin, and that Emperor An of Jin himself did not recognize hunger and cold, so Sima Dewen accompanied Emperor An of Jin; it was not until one time that Sima Dewen left the palace due to illness that Liu Yu sent someone to kill Emperor An of Jin. Liu Yu himself intended to proclaim himself emperor, but because Tu Yu said that "there were two emperors after Changming (Emperor Xiaowu of Jin)", Liu Yu changed Sima Dewen to emperor in 418 and Yuan Xi the following year, in order to conform to Tu Chen's words.

Biography

Sima Dewen,Emperor Gong of Jin (386–421), was the last emperor of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. He was the son of Emperor Xiaowu of Jin and the younger brother of Emperor An of Jin.

In June 420, Sima Dewen took the throne with Liu Yu, and the Eastern Jin Dynasty was destroyed; Sima Dewen was made the King of Lingling, and in September 421, Liu Yu sent someone to suffocate Sima Dewen with a cotton quilt, and Sima Dewen was Chinese New Year's Eve six years old. Sima Dewen was buried in Chongping Mausoleum after his death.
