Original form 1. Wood vine. The twigs are cylindrical and often metamorphosed into pairs of spiral-like curved hooks. Leaves are paraphyletic; petioles are 2–4 mm long; leaves are nearly leathery, oblong to narrow oblong, 6–10 cm long and 2–4 cm wide, sharply pointed to short tapering at the apex, blunt to rounded at the base, glossy and glabrous above, usually dull and hairless below. Polyumbeliss are apical or axillary, 3–4 cm long; inflorescence peduncles and peduncles are slightly hairy; flowers are 5; small bracts are ovate triangles; calyx lobes are ovate and slightly hairy on the outside; the corolla is white, 1.2 cm long, the corolla tube is much longer than the corolla lobe; the stamens are born in the larynx of the corolla duct, the filaments are shorter than the anthers; the pistils are 11 mm long, the ovary is ovate, the peduncle is elongated, and the stigma is head-shaped. The berries are spherical in shape, 1.5–3 cm in diameter, containing 2–7 seeds; the seeds are disc-shaped, 2–2.5 cm wide, and covered with short soft hairs. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruit period is from June to December.
2. The difference between this species and HuaMa Qian is: the polyumbel-shaped inflorescence is arranged in a conical shape, 6-12 cm long; the corolla lobes are oblong lanceolate, 3 times longer than the corolla tube; the anthers are long ovate, the base is heart-shaped, and it is inverted to the long soft hairs. The berries are about 1.2 cm in diameter and contain 1-3 seeds. The flowering period is from March to June, and the fruit period is from July to October.
Habitat division ecological environment: 1. It grows under mountain sparse forests or in hillside shrubland.
