The dorsal fin is single, not deep, with hard spines X spines, soft stripes 12-13; the fin is opposite to the dorsal fin, with hard spines III, soft stripes 12-13; the dorsal fin and fin posterior cusp; the pectoral fin is short; the ventral fin is long and large, equal to or greater than the head length; the caudal fin is round. The body is uniformly red. The ventral fin membrane is black , and the dorsal , ructal , and caudal fins have black margins.
Population distribution
It is found in tropical and temperate waters of the world's oceans, including South Africa to Baja California and Peru in the eastern Pacific Ocean, Japan and South Korea in the north, Australia in the south, Argentina in the western Atlantic ocean to New Jersey, USA.
Habits of life
