In the later stages of the War of Liberation, the momentum of our army's destruction and decay was unstoppable, and the generals of the nationalist army on the opposite side either stubbornly resisted or surrendered.

However, there is a corps commander who does not want to revolt and surrender, nor does he want to die and break the net, but honestly waits to be prepared to be a prisoner.

This strange man, named Lu Junquan, was the commander of the Sixth Corps at the time.

During the Battle of Jinzhou, Long Yun informed him of the uprising and surrender, but he said: I am looking forward to being a prisoner

If you want to talk about this Lu Junquan, it is also quite background, the Yi slave owner family of the Eight Classics of Zheng'er, it is said that there are thousands of slaves in their family alone!

The Lu family not only has strong financial resources, but also has relations with the military and political circles, such as the great warlord "King of Yunnan" Long Yun, who is a close relative of the Lu family, and Long Yun and Lu Han, the chairman of Yunnan Province, are cousins, so Lu Junquan's identity background is quite powerful in the Dian Army.

Because of longyun's relationship, Lu Junquan also entered the military circles when he grew up, and was successively admitted to the Yunnan Army's Lecture Hall and the Huangpu Military Academy, and after graduation, he went to Long Yun's account, soared all the way to Huang Tengda, and in the period of the Liberation War, he had been promoted to commander of the Sixth Corps, and sat on an equal footing with Zheng Dongguo, Liao Yaoxiang, Huang Wei, Li Mi and other famous generals.

However, if a "related household" like Lu Junquan can say that there are any impressive achievements, it is impossible to say a few, the most famous of which is his glorious deed of "waiting to be captured".

In October 1948, the Northeast Field Army soldiers approached Jinzhou City, and although Long Yun was in Kunming at that time, he already had a clear understanding of the war situation, so the generals of the Dian Army, including Lu Junquan, secretly prepared for an uprising.

However, when everyone else was ready, Lu Junquan did not see any movement for a long time, and no one knew what medicine he was selling in his gourd.

In desperation, Long Yun found Wei Lihuang again, and wanted him to persuade Lu Junquan to follow along with the uprising. However, this time Lu Junquan was more direct, and he did not take care of Wei Lihuang at all.

After repeated persuasions were fruitless, Long Yun was completely helpless, and could only let Lu Junquan make up his own mind.

Since there is no uprising, it must be that you want to burn all the jade and be loyal to the party-state, right? Nor is it, for those generals who are preparing for the uprising, Lu Junquan, as the commander of the corps, neither arrests them nor denounces them, and he himself is neither busy with building fortifications nor immediately slipping away, that is a word - wait!

What are you waiting for? Waiting to be captured.

This may sound a bit funny, but Lu Junquan is not stupid, he does not want to fall for the crime of betraying the party-state, fearing death and cowardly war, nor does he want to hit the stone with a pebble and seek his own death, which is why he directed himself to perform such a farce of "waiting to be captured".

After the battle began, the enemy of Jinzhou collapsed, and on October 15, 1948, Lu Junquan was captured during the breakthrough, which can also be regarded as the fulfillment of his wish. At this time, Lu Junquan was less than a year away from becoming the commander of the Sixth Corps.

When Long Yun, who was far away in Yunnan, heard the news of Lu Junquan's capture, he scolded him, saying that he was too ignorant of current affairs.

In fact, Lu Junquan's calculations were good, but he made two mistakes: first, the defeat of the Kuomintang had long been a foregone conclusion, and you were a person of Long Yun, not a person of Chiang Kai-shek, and there was really no need to fight for him; second, the gap between being captured and taking the initiative to revolt was too big, and the treatment was naturally very different.

After being captured, Lu Junquan was imprisoned in a war criminals management center and reformed, while Long Yun, Lu Han, and Zeng Zesheng, who was in the northeast uprising, were all entrusted with heavy responsibilities after the founding of New China because they understood the situation early and took the initiative to surrender to the uprising, especially Long Yun, who initially urged Lu Junquan to revolt, and later sat on the position of vice chairman of the National Defense Commission.

But who can blame this? The opportunity is in front of you, but I turn a blind eye and choose the most confusing path!

Fortunately, Lu Junquan's performance in the war criminals management center was quite positive, and in 1959, he became one of the first war criminals to be pardoned.

After being released from prison, Lu Junquan returned to Yunnan as a small clerk and died of illness in 1979 at the age of 80.
