During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the government middle school was an important stronghold of the Tianjin underground party, and many progressive students secretly participated in progressive organizations such as the Chinese National Liberation Vanguard, the Youth Anti-Japanese Vanguard, and the Anti-Japanese National Salvation Joint Association under the party's leadership, and carried out anti-Japanese and rescue work under the leadership of the party. In order to seek the road to saving the country and the people, a group of progressive students of the government middle school successively set up various secret reading clubs to collect and read a large number of progressive books and periodicals, listen to broadcasts in Yan'an and abroad, and spread the news of victory in the battle. In the winter of 1939, the Spartan Club of Rotary Middle School, led by Wang Wenyuan, Liu Wen and Jia Xuan, three members of the "Minxian" team, was one of them. Sparta was a patriotic and brave national hero in ancient Greece, and the nature of the reading club to resist Japan and save the country was determined by this name, and the members also included Zhao Qi, Qin Liang (Mu Zengqin) and Liao Fu.

Through Qin Liang's brother Mu Zengmao, the club established contact with the CPC Pingjin-Tang Dynasty Dot Line Working Committee. With the introduction and approval of Gu Lei, secretary of the Tianjin City Party Committee, member Liu Wen joined the party's peripheral organization, the Youth Anti-Japanese Vanguard (hereinafter referred to as "Qingkang Pioneer"). The "Qingkang Xian" is a peripheral organization under the direct leadership of the party, which stipulates strict organizational discipline and secret discipline, and its members adopt a single line of contact and do not have horizontal relations. Since the nine party members at that time were all students of the provincial first middle school, they were later also called the provincial first central party branch. This party branch is under the direct leadership of Gu Lei. Under the leadership and education of the party, the party branch of the provincial first central committee persisted in the struggle and actively and prudently carried out its work in a dangerous environment, when Liu Wen's family lived at No. 6 Luzhuangzi Hutong on Hua'an Avenue (the original building no longer existed), which became a place where they often met.

During this period, the party branch contacted many progressive masses, involving a wide range of social aspects, including students, teachers, staff, workers, and so on. They work or study in schools, radio stations, libraries, hospitals, post and telecommunications offices, etc., laying a good foundation for future work. The party branch used Peking opera fans, drama troupes, opera rap teams, harmonica teams, and so on to carry out open and legal activities as much as possible, and also sent some party members and activists to factories and railways to make friends among workers and develop progressive forces.

Party branches have also adopted different measures to cultivate and educate activists according to their different circumstances. Some are sent to the base areas, trained and developed into party members, and then sent back to Tianjin to work; some are trained and developed on the spot. Zhao Qi also often went deep into rural primary schools to train some activists and guide them to persist in fighting in the countryside until the liberation of Tianjin.

In 1942, Yan Zitao was transferred back to the Liberated Areas to work, and the party branch was directly led by the Urban Work Department of the Jin-Cha-Ji Branch.

In the spring of 1944, Zhao Qifeng was transferred back to the sub-bureau as a political traffic officer, often conveying the instructions of the Jin-Cha-Ji sub-bureau to the party branch, and also brought back important documents of the party central committee, such as "On the Coalition Government" and "On the Battlefield in the Liberated Areas", which the branch engraved and printed into leaflets and distributed them.

In the dangerous environment of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the party branch of the "Youth Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" paid special attention to organizational development while using various forms of struggle. After the test of struggle, the number of party members has grown to more than 20, and the number of activists around the party branch has reached more than 100. This contingent made an important contribution to the anti-Japanese struggle after the fall of Tianjin.

In May 1933, under the impetus and influence of the Communist Party of China, patriotic generals Feng Yuxiang and Ji Hongchang and CCP member Fang Zhenwu established the Chahar People's Anti-Japanese Allied Army in Zhangjiakou and declared war against Japan. Patriotic teachers and students of some schools in Tianjin actively gave support, and the picture shows the teachers and students of Tianjin Rotary Middle School organizing a front-line condolence group to donate money and materials to the anti-Japanese soldiers in Chahar

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Tianjin Working Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish a Youth Working Committee, which was formally established on September 22, 1945, and in November of the same year, the Youth Working Committee was renamed the Student Work Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Student Committee"), with Zhang Huai as the third secretary, Chu Yun as the deputy secretary, and Liu Wen, Kang Li and Zuo Jian as the members. Because No. 6 Luzhuangzi Hutong is easy to hide, Liu Wen is an old resident here, and the neighborhood relationship is very good, so it has become a "school committee" organ. Many meetings of the "School Committee" were held here, and Zhang Huaisan once lived here. Under the white terror of the Kuomintang reactionaries, he launched and organized students, women and professional youth in Tianjin to wage a tit-for-tat and indomitable struggle against the Kuomintang reactionaries. At that time, the environment was very harsh, and he always unswervingly adhered to the party's principles, tactics, and policies in the struggle against the enemy, and his work was carried out with great sound and color. The "School Committee" headed by him led the "anti-screening" of middle school teachers and students, and was the first to win a major victory in the struggle in the whole country; organized the "125" to consolidate peaceful demonstrations and exposed the civil war conspiracy of the Kuomintang reactionaries. These struggles and activities have played a good role in breaking the dreary atmosphere in Tianjin under the rule of Japanese imperialism for eight years, opening up a new situation in the struggle against the civil war, developing the peripheral organizations of the Tianjin underground party, and strengthening the strength of the underground party. In May 1946, the Kuomintang reactionaries launched several major crackdowns on the underground party, and Zhang Huaisan, in accordance with the requirements of the municipal party committee, systematically organized underground party members, members of the People's Youth League, and activists to withdraw to the Liberated Areas, while he risked his life to stay in Tianjin in accordance with the arrangements of the party organization, continue to adhere to the party's underground work, and organize the masses to wage a tenacious struggle against the Kuomintang reactionaries.

In June 1946, after the full-scale outbreak of civil war, Liu Wen withdrew to the Liberated Area, and the No. 6 organ of Luzhuangzi Hutong was stopped. From the anti-Japanese activities of the "Qingkang Xian" branch during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to the student movement led by the "School Committee" during the Liberation War, this organ made contributions to the cause of Tianjin's liberation.
