In the fall of 2020, I have the honor to join the big family of Shenzhen Middle School, as both a learner and an educator, to participate in the construction of history education in Shenzhen Middle School, and I also want to try to help the majority of people who are deeply curious or scrutinized about Shenzhen education from a personal perspective, better understand our envied "group of highly educated teachers", and understand what this pioneering middle school experience of "eclectic and talent-reducing" is experiencing.

I believe that many new teachers who have just arrived, like me, must not only start from scratch" in the preparation of new curriculum standards and new teaching materials, but also assume heavy and thick class teacher responsibilities. To be honest, when I met the first meeting of the 27th class, I was a little nervous and a little dazed.

Thinking more about it is, what if the student does not like me? What if a certain sentence is wrong and the authority of the class teacher is smashed? There are also many questions and requests for help from students and parents that overwhelm me, and there are many measures and measures that need to be handled... But these lingering thoughts and worries vanished after the first day passed.

Why?

Because I was too busy, I simply didn't have the strength to look ahead and look back. I not only have to set up the rules and regulations of the class and the organization of the class committee, but also face the new problems that are overwhelmed, so many affairs are naturally moving forward under the impetus of me, the class committee and the family committee.

When I really stopped and reflected on the work of the class teacher in the past few weeks, I found that I had long forgotten those initial concerns, and realized that when we put our heart into treating students, we naturally received the best recognition.

Because the dormitory bed is relatively tight, each class has parents in the appeal for whether their children can live in the dormitory, I saw in the enterprise WeChat group on the one hand that the class teachers understand the school's pain, communicate with parents in depth, on the other hand, they also have a deep empathy for students, as if they are their own children.

And I see that many of our homeroom teachers are very enthusiastic and responsible, and have invested a lot of energy and temperature in this work. One night after self-study, I checked the class attendance and planned to go back to the dormitory to prepare for the class, and on the way I met several class teachers, who asked me: Are you going back? Makes me a little embarrassed.

In the first month of class building, which is the starting point for the establishment of routine and order, seeing so many like-minded peers walking as diligently as I am on this brightly lit night will produce a deep sense of presence and mission, I know what I am doing, I know where we are going together.

The teaching position has its bright side, passing students will be honored to say "Hello teacher", parents are more courteous, but this respect is behind the unremitting efforts in exchange.

Teachers are a conscientious profession, there is no particularly obvious direct superior and KPI pressure, to what extent to prepare lessons, whether to go to the class to maintain discipline in the morning and evening self-study, and in what way to communicate with students, are all choices with great freedom.

And in the face of the words "Hello teacher" spoken by the young faces, I can only maintain this peace of mind if I try to do everything to the point of twelve points.

Students' eyes are like mirrors, and their respect is also valuable, which is balanced by your concern for each of their individuals. As long as you explain the work at hand in the enterprise, you are a successful professional, and as a teacher, any flaw may be the starting point for students to criticize you.

This year, the history has been replaced with new teaching materials, and the volume is very large, and often the tasks of the previous two or three lessons must be told and completed in one lesson. How to maintain the vividness of history teaching (rather than drawing the key points) and display the knowledge points one by one (lectures are not fanciful, and the countdown to the grade is half a sentence off the topic) is a problem I have been pondering.

While staying up late at night to prepare for classes, while actively observing the lectures of old teachers during the day, learning their lecture structure, language style, and quoting historical materials, "stealing" their passages, and not opening their mouths and being helpless in their own classes.

The research at the doctoral level is only a little specialized, and it is still necessary to spend a lot of effort to fill the gap in their knowledge in the teaching of general history, and to continuously learn how to deal with the college entrance examination question types in terms of test-taking skills, and there is a long way to explore in education and teaching.

The essence of education is what you can be

In various job interviews, I said that studying for a phD is a life choice for me, not a job choice, just like some people want to gap year at this age, some people want to enter the family society early, and I hope to continue to answer my continuous curiosity at this stage of life.

I feel fortunate that I can still embrace the wonderful things that I am willing to put in my energy and enthusiasm to this day. Along the way, build a more complete knowledge framework, hold a purer human curiosity, not to a straight road, but to pursue more possibilities on the road ahead.

I thought the first day of walking on the podium would be stressful, but when that moment came, I suddenly realized that I had been preparing for this moment for a long time. When undergraduates receive a bright idea, they will think about how to tell it to others, sometimes run to their high school alma mater for self-study during winter and summer vacations, and simulate themselves as a history teacher in empty classrooms. Today it's all in front of you.

What I hope to provide students with is the spatial imagination of the wider world. Deep middle school students are diligent and thoughtful, and can always find new questions outside the textbook, and a solid academic background can also help them standardize their historical cognition and help them find ideas for exploring curious problems.

Students need personality role models that they can aspire to in their growth stages, and parents and teachers are the authoritative forces that are closest to them and can have the most direct impact. At the flag-raising ceremony of returning to school after graduating from high school, I used to share my experience with my students under the name of "college entrance examination winner", and the theme of the report at that time was still clearly remembered - I am every one of you.

Time has passed not long ago, and I still want to say this to the many clear faces on campus, not because I am self-conscious about how much I have achieved, but because I am still happy to continue to enrich myself and become a role model that is worthy of the trust and transcendence of students.

Understanding historical facts is only the lowest requirement of historical education

The feelings of home and country and dialectical thinking cannot be abandoned

On the day of the internship in Shenzhen Middle School, I had some communication with President Zhu, what kind of history discipline do we need?

First of all, taking history as a mirror, human beings' reflection on the past society and the pursuit of future life are based on the understanding of history. The galaxy is long, so many human beings in the past have had so many different ways of living, you must know that you are not alone. When you are confused, when you are confused, when you are angry, you will find a role model fulcrum that matches your emotions, and you will also know what is a good trick for you to deal with the current difficulties.

The second is dialectical thinking, where many people label liberal arts students as only romantic imaginations and no pragmatic abilities. However, historical learning is just the opposite, each of its starting points is the historical evidence that needs to be repeatedly examined, and each of its footholds is also a value judgment after the stirring under the logical chain. It will make a person rigorous, down-to-earth, responsible, prudent, not excited by a labeled term, not indignant by an emotional relationship kidnapping; it will even make people become a little "timid", less determined about many issues, because the world we see is indeed not black and white, and the more information we know, the more peaceful it will be.

History is actually the common memory carried by our ethnic group. Benedictke said that the "state" is an imaginary community, and consciously dissolves this concept, but everyone can chant the phrase "when is the moon" is not imaginary. Thousands of people in Huang Lisong's lecture hall sang in unison "A big river with wide waves" is not imaginary, the common fate experienced by our ancestors in different parts of this continent, and the sorrows and joys of the past generations that have continued in the same region, are all inherited by us today.

The students in the deep middle school have a sense of direction, know what kind of person they want to become in the future, know how to reach the ideal future, but at the same time, they know who they are, know the thickness of the civilization they carry and the mission of their homeland.

History classes can sometimes be boring, obscure, and difficult to understand, but there are always moments of light that bring tears to one's eyes. At the end of the opening class, I asked the students to recite in unison the opening chapter of Mr. Qian Mu's "Outline of National History": "When believing that the citizens of any country, especially those who claim to be above the level of knowledge, should have a little knowledge of the past history of their own country. Those who say that they know a little about the past history of their own country must be accompanied by a kind of warmth and respect for the past history of their country. ”

This is a Chinese history textbook written by Qian Mu during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and the students of the Southwest United University are still full of warmth and respect in the artillery fire in the rear, and in the gray fog of not knowing whether our nation still has tomorrow, they are still full of warmth and respect, and the distant imagination shines into the reality in front of them, and I also hope that our students in the depths can maintain such a close relationship with the history of the country.

Of course, the education and teaching work has only been carried out for a short semester, and now it is only a starting point, and there will be more opportunities and challenges for us to develop in depth.
