The total number of Chinese sports delegations to the Tokyo Olympic Games is 777, including 431 athletes (298 female athletes and 133 male athletes), 307 coaches, team leaders, scientific and medical personnel and other sports team staff, and 39 regimental staff. The coaches include 30 foreign teachers from 19 countries such as the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France, covering 17 sports such as athletics, rowing, water polo, and rugby.

Among them, 8 players from Anhui participated, namely Wang Chunyu (women's 800 meters), Wang Xiaojing (women's flying saucer), Lan Minghao (men's epee team), Wu Juan (women's rugby), Li Haonan (men's 3-person basketball), Li Yuting (women's 4*100m relay), Lu Xiuzhi (women's 20 km race walk), Li Huiru (women's rowing).

The Tokyo Olympics is the largest olympic event in which Chinese sports delegations participate abroad. Currently, the vaccination rate for members of the delegation is 99.61 per cent.
