The allusion to "one hit" is very widespread, and it comes from "Han Feizi YuLao", which tells the interesting story of the early years of King Chu Zhuang, the most famous monarch of the Chu Kingdom during the Spring and Autumn Period.
As mentioned last time, Jin Chenggong had just solved his internal problems and had to face the threat of the Chu state, so what was the recent situation in the chu state?
Since the last time King Chu Mu was in the Imperial Household, he died of illness more than a year after his return, and his son Xiong Lu succeeded to the throne as King Zhuang of Chu.
When King Chu Zhuang first ascended the throne, he was less than twenty years old, quite young, and because of this, at this time, the King of Chu Zhuang, like the original Jin Linggong, did not put his mind on the government at all, but blindly wanted to take pleasure, but the luck of the King of Chu Zhuang was not as good as that of the Jin Linggong, and what he had to face was a turbulent Chu state, not only internal disputes, but also some surrounding countries were also looking for trouble one after another.
In the first year of King Zhuang's reign, Yin Chengjia and Taishi Pan Chong raised an army against Qunshu, the so-called Qunshu, which refers to the many small states of the Shu clan with the surname Shu that were entrenched in the southeast of the Chu state, and their members were Shu Yong, Shu Rong, Shu Jiu, Shu Long, Shu Bao, and Shu Gong, which had long been dependent on the Chu state because of their weak strength, but in 615 BC, the original Ling Yin Cheng of the Chu state died of a heart attack, and his brother Chengjia succeeded him, and Qun Shu took the opportunity to betray the Chu state together with their clans.
However, the rebellion was soon quelled, and in order to avoid a recurrence of similar incidents, Cheng Jiacai and Pan Chong took the initiative to attack Qunshu, and specially told Gongzi Xie and Dou Ke to stay in Yingdu and assist King Zhuang of Chu.

However, these two people are somewhat special, Dou Ke was originally a Native of the State of Chu, when the Qin and Jin states joined forces to attack the state of Chu, the king of Chu Cheng sent Dou Ke and Gong Qu Yukou to rescue them, but unexpectedly, Qin Mugong used a counter-plot to force the prince of the State of Chu to lose trust in the two, which eventually led to Dou Ke being captured. Soon the Qin and Jin countries turned against each other, and the Battle of Kunshan broke out, the Qin army was defeated and returned, Qin Mugong in order to stabilize his position, re-reconciled with the State of Chu, sent Dou Ke as an intermediary to coordinate, King Cheng of Chu adopted Qin Mugong's suggestion, but did not reward Dou Ke, And Dou Ke held a grudge. And Gongzi Xie originally wanted to sit in the position of Ling Yin after chengda's heart disease died, but he was preempted by Cheng Jia, and he also had a grudge in his heart, so now that the two of them have joined forces, there will naturally be some action.
Shortly after Cheng Jia and Pan Chong's troops left, Gongzi Xie and Dou Ke put King Zhuang of Chu under house arrest and built a city wall outside the capital of Ying, openly rebelling. In order to realize the plan as soon as possible, the two sent assassins to assassinate Cheng Jia secretly, but they were detected by Cheng Jia and failed to succeed, so they simply abducted the King of Chu Zhuang and left Yingdu, planning to flee to Shangmi and then carry out the next step of planning. When passing through Luyi, Dr. Luyi
Li Pear had already received Cheng Jiami's order, and he took the deputy general Shu Yi pretending to follow Dou Ke, taking advantage of the fact that the two were not ready to take them in one fell swoop and rescue the King of Chuzhuang, which calmed the turmoil.
After experiencing this incident, king Chu Zhuang had a lingering feeling in his heart, and he also understood the truth of Taoguang's obscurity, so from then on, he did not ask about political affairs at all, and his mind was all spent on drinking and having fun.
In 611 BC, the Chu state suffered a severe famine, a large area of grain harvest was not harvested, and the entire country was shrouded in a haze of hunger. The situation at home was unstable, while the situation outside was even more dangerous, first of all, the Rong people scattered in the mountains south of the Chu State realized that there was a crisis in the Chu State, took the opportunity to rebel, and set off from the southwest of the Chu State all the way to Yangqiu.
Then the leader of the barbarians in the north, Yong Guo, also led the group of barbarians to rebel, and the state of Qi in the west followed in a positive response, calling on the pu people scattered in the southwest to assemble in the chosen places, pay close attention to the development of the situation, and prepare to declare war on the chu state at any time, and the Shenyi and Xiyi of the Chu state were in danger.
In less than three months, alarms flew to Yingdu like snowflakes, and the Chu state nearly collapsed under internal and external troubles, facing the most serious crisis in history.
In such a severe situation, the ministers sat on needles and felts, and ran to the king of Chuzhuang every day to petition, but the king of Chuzhuang was still indifferent, and he continued to hide in the deep palace for fun, and sometimes on a whim he ran out hunting with a group of eunuchs, and did not return to the palace for several days and nights, Cheng Jia, Pu Jia and others only begged bitterly, and later the king of Chu Zhuang was said to be impatient, and simply put up a sign at the door, which read: "Those who enter the court, kill and do not forgive."
If this method really worked, there were many fewer people who came to advise, but fortunately there were still a few upright and fearless people.
The first person was the Right Sima of the Chu Kingdom, whose name was Wu Ju, and on this day, he came to the harem of King Chu Zhuang, who was watching the song and dance with his concubine Zheng Ji in one hand and the beautiful woman who had recently advanced in Yue Guo in the other, when he saw Wu Ju coming, the King of Chu Zhuang showed a murderous look in his eyes and asked in a sharp voice: "Ai Qing can see the sign at the door." ”
Wu Ju said unhurriedly, "I see." King Chu Zhuang sneered, "Since you saw it, why did you come here?" ”
Wu Ju replied, "I just wanted to ask the King a question." This answer surprised King Chu Zhuang a little, and he asked Wu Ju, "What is the problem?" Wu Ju said: "There is a big bird on the top of the earth mountain in our country, which has been there for three years, neither flying nor chirping, I don't know what kind of bird it is." ”
King Chu Zhuang smiled meaningfully, and then said slowly and logically: "Three years without flying, one soaring into the sky, three years without sound, one hit." Ai Qing's meaning is already understood, you can back off. ”
A few days later, King Chuzhuang's behavior was even more debauched, and the palace was disturbed all day, and another doctor, Su Cong, really couldn't look down on it, and also risked his life to see King Chu Zhuang, who still had the same attitude as when he first met Wu Ju, and asked Su Cong: "The doctor knows the edict of the widow." ”
Su Cong, who was more upright than Wu Ju, replied firmly, "The subject knows it well, but as a courtier, I must not watch the demise of my parents' kingdom, and if the king can heed the advice of the courtier, the minister will die in the great hall today without complaint." ”
King Zhuang of Chu was a little surprised by Su Cong's attitude, and remembered Wu Ju's previous metaphor and his own promise to him, and told Su Cong on the spot that he would definitely change his past wrongs and devote all his thoughts to governing the country.
The next day, King Zhuang of Chu ordered that all the singers and musicians in the harem who had nothing to do with state affairs be expelled, and that all the music pieces accumulated over the years should be brought to him, and he would read them one by one. Most of those who had only been flattered when he was enjoying themselves were now punished, while people like Wu Ju and Su Cong were entrusted with heavy responsibilities.
This is the allusion to the "blockbuster" of King Chu zhuang, which is recorded in both the "History" and "Han Feizi", but it is worth mentioning that there is another version of this allusion in the "History", which refers to the matter of King Qi Wei and his ministers in the Warring States period, which is basically similar in content, but according to the time of occurrence and the relevant historical records, it should be more reliable to happen to King Chu Zhuang.
The biggest problem facing King Chu Zhuang was how to solve the crisis at hand.
King Zhuang of Chu ordered a military conference to be convened, and Cheng Jia, Pan Chong, Pu Jia, Su Cong, and others attended one after another, and many people believed that the current form was extremely critical, the enemy's offensive was too dangerous, and it was necessary to move the capital as soon as possible to protect the palace room.
Pu Jia immediately came out to oppose, and he said to King Chu Zhuang: "We can flee to Hangao, and the enemy can also chase after us, and the reason why the enemy is arrogant now is precisely because we are in a famine and believe that our army does not dare to send troops to fight them in a decisive battle, so we should seize this mentality of them, take the initiative to attack, and first concentrate our superior forces to launch an attack on the Yong country. ”
King Zhuang of Chu immediately patted the case and said, "The words of Pu Jia are exactly in line with the intention of the widow, I am a great Chu, how can I move the capital because of these small nights, the widow is to let them see that the heavenly power of the Chu state is not something they can offend." ”
Then King Zhuang of Chu asked Cheng Jia, "How many armies can be called into the country today?" Cheng Jia carefully calculated and replied, "Except for those who have guarded the border and provided disaster relief in various places, at present, the middle school can only gather more than 100 military vehicles and about one hundred." ”
King Chu Zhuang smiled and said, "It is enough to deal with a small philistine country, these people are enough, please ling Yin inform the generals at all levels, tomorrow at noon the school will assemble, light the drum and send the army, if there is any delay, all military law will be carried out." "Cheng Jiawei was ordained.
The next day, the three armies were ordered to assemble, totaling more than 10,000 people, King Zhuang of Chu himself served as commander, Cheng Jia and Dou Yue Jiao were divided into left and right, the large army set out from Yingdu and went straight to the direction of Luyi, where the power of the Yong state was most concentrated, and learned that the Chu state had entered the army, And Bai Pu quickly ordered the withdrawal of the troops as predicted by Pu Jia, and the state of Qi also asked for peace with the state of Chu shortly after, and then there was only one Yong state left.
The morale of the Chu army was high, and they won successive battles, and in less than a month they had already recovered more than a dozen counties occupied by the Yong state, and everywhere they went, the king of Chu Zhuang ordered the opening of warehouses to release grain, reward the army and relieve the local poor people.
Ten days later, when the army was in Jurassia, king Zhuang of Chu ordered Luyi Daifu Li to lead a leading force to tentatively attack Fangcheng, where the main force of the Yong state was located.
Due to the leak of information, Li Li was ambushed by the Yong army at Fangcheng, with heavy losses, and his second-in-command, Yang Window, was also captured by the Yongguo.
Three days later, Zi Yangcheng fled back to Jurapi overnight while the guards were not paying attention, and the King of Chuzhuang was anxious to hear the news of Fang Cheng, and summoned him at the first time.
Zi Yangchuang reported to the King of Chu Zhuang what he had seen: "The enemy troops stationed in Fangcheng are extremely large, and there are barbarians to help the battle, and the number is probably above us, and the lord should once again transfer troops from Yingdu, concentrate all the troops of the whole country here, and then launch a general offensive, so that there is a certainty of victory." ”
Cheng Jia listened to the objection and said, "This is not okay, I have already reported to the Great King when I was leaving, and now all the troops we can use are already here, if we draw the troops from shubian again, I am afraid that the crisis in Fangcheng will not be lifted, but it will bring greater trouble." ”
Pan Chong's eyes rolled and he gave a suggestion to King Zhuang of Chu: "If the subject has a plan, it is better to show weakness to the mediocre army and make the other side proud, and after a long time, their thinking will certainly be relaxed, and we will concentrate our superior forces to attack, and with the excitement of our army and the pride of the enemy, we will certainly be able to win a complete victory. ”
King Chu Zhuang laughed and said, "Master Tai's brilliant plan is based on Master Tai's words." ”
The next day, King Zhuang of Chu sent Dou Yuejiao, Cheng Jia, Shu Li and others to launch a series of attacks on Fangcheng, but seven consecutive times ended in failure, and the loss of strategic materials was countless.
In this way, the Yongguo people felt that the Chu army had lost its former momentum and did not need to worry too much, so they relaxed their thinking, and the vigilance on the periphery was no longer strict.
King Zhuang of Chu soon discovered this situation, and he immediately led an army to Linpin to meet Cheng Jia and others, and King Cheng of Chu divided the army into two, one led by Dou Yuejiao, passing from Linpin to Shixi, and the other led by Zibei, the eldest master, and encircling Fangcheng through Yudi. Where the Chu army passed, the barbarian tribes, including the Qin army and the Ba army, saw that their power was strong and strong, and they sent troops to support them, so as to show their goodwill to the king of ChuZhuang.
When the two armies of the Chu state arrived at Fangcheng, the Yong army was celebrating the last time they defeated the Chu state, completely unaware that the danger had come, Dou Yue Jiao and Zibei seized the opportunity, quickly entered the battle, and launched a fierce offensive against the Yong army, the Yong army rushed to fight without any defense, but where was the opponent of the Chu army, soon the Yong army retreated backwards, there were countless casualties, the Yong lord wanted to organize a fresh force to make a final fight with the Chu army at this time, but also failed, under the heavy siege of the Chu army, the Yong lord had to surrender, King Zhuang of Chu ordered that some of the younger people, including the Yong Lord, behead all the others, including the Yong Lord, and the Yong State was also included in the territory of the Chu State and withdrew from the stage of history.
King Zhuang of Chu used his shocking talent to defuse the crisis of the State of Chu, but he was not satisfied, and he would then proceed to his next plan, and at this moment, Zheng Guo suddenly wrote a letter wanting to defect to the State of Chu, which undoubtedly surprised King Chu Zhuang.
So why did Zheng Mugong suddenly betray the Jin State, and what kind of layout would the King of Chu Zhuang use the Zheng State to carry out?
