Affected by the strong cold air and the low pressure of the Bohai Sea, it is expected that from the night of November 8 to the day of November 9, there will be a large wave of 2.5 to 4.5 meters in the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea to the giant wave area, and a large wave of 3 to 5.5 meters in the East China Sea and the Taiwan Strait will appear in the giant wave area. In the coastal waters of Liaoning, Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Northern Fujian, there will be medium to large waves of 2 to 3.3 meters, and the warning level of waves in coastal waters will be blue.

The National Marine ForecastIng Station reminds vessels operating in the above-mentioned waters to pay attention to safety, and all relevant coastal units take measures to prevent waves and avoid waves in advance.

In terms of storm surge, at present, the storm surge along the affected coast has fallen back and the tide level has returned to normal. The warning of this temperate storm surge has been lifted.

Abstract:Using the waveform data of the global virtual seismic network and using the w-phase rapid source mechanism inversion method, the mw7.3 earthquake information in the sea near the Kmadeke Islands in New Zealand was obtained on June 16, 2019. Section I.: direction angle 186 °/ inclination angle 37 °/ sliding angle 71°, section surface II.: directional angle 29°/inclination angle 55°/sliding angle 104°, moment magnitude mw7.26. The results of the source mechanism show that the earthquake is a shallow source inter-plate seismic event with a mainly thrust nature. The fault layer geometric parameters of the source mechanism obtained by inversion were calculated by using the comcot model, and the simulation results showed that after the earthquake, a slight tsunami fluctuation was generated near the source, with a maximum amplitude of about 0.28 m, and the amplitude near the tide level station in Funawan Bay on The Island of Raoul was about 0.05 m, which was close to the actual observation value of 0.09 m.

abstract:an earthquake with a magnitude of mw7.3 occurred near the kermadec islands, new zealand in june 16, 2019. based on the waveform from the global seismograph network, the focal mechanism of the earthquake is calculated rapidly using the w-phase method. for the nodal planeⅠ, strike is 186°, dip is 37°, rake is 71°, for the nodal plane Ⅱ, strike is 29°, dip is 55°, rake is 104° with the moment magnitude mwof 7.26. the focal mechanism solution shows that the earthquake with thrust-faulting occurred at the shallow boundary between the pacific plate and indian-australian plate. tsunami numerical simulation is implemented with comcot model using the actual fault plane solution from w-phase inversion. the simulation results show that the maximum waveform height is about 0.28 m. the maximum numerical simulation height near the raoul island is about 0.05 m, which is close to 0.09 m recorded by the gauge station.
