Plato on bravery

Judgment must be based on knowledge, not on the minds of the majority, so that a good decision can be made.

Be willing to learn for life and don't think that age automatically brings insights.

Plato on bravery

Bravery is a certain wise persistence of the soul, and foolish boldness and persistence are bad and harmful.

Plato on bravery

Bravery is the recognition of danger and harmlessness, and I would never speak of a beast as brave, something that is merely something that is not afraid of dangerous things out of ignorance, which I call fearless, insensitive.

Bravery and prudence occur only in a few, recklessness, boldness and fearlessness, and rash moves appear in many people, and I call only the wise brave.

From Wang Taiqing's translation of Plato's Dialogues
