Remembering my revolutionary leader, Liu Huwen

Remembering my revolutionary leader, Liu Huwen

□ Deng Xiaoguang

Comrade Liu Huwen (formerly known as Liu Zhaoying, we call Brother Ahu) has been away from us for 55 years, but the glorious image of him being loyal to the party and serving the people wholeheartedly has never faded from my mind. Recalling the scene when he led us together in Dapu, Guangdong Province, Fujian Longyan, Liancheng to fight guerrillas, suppress bandits and land reform, the scene seemed to be in front of us.

Not afraid of hardships and dangers, obey the dispatch

I am an orphan. In August 1948, when I was 12 years old, I accidentally heard the sound of the organ coming from inside at the entrance of Tai Po Taoyuan Public School, and when I walked in, I saw Brother Ahu playing the organ, and I also met Comrades Wang Zhuping, Zhang Zilong, He Shaan and other comrades, which was my first acquaintance with communists. After more than a month of dating, Brother Ahu asked me to send a letter to the Sanzhou Lingyan Temple on the other side of Taohua Village in Gaopi Town, and I became an underground traffic officer. This line of communication had to pass through the enemy-occupied area of Sanzhou Ferry, where Kuomintang troops were stationed at Sanzhou Primary School. After passing more times, I attracted the attention of the enemy detectives, and once I was almost caught at the Peach Blossom Datang Dam. For my safety, Brother Ahu asked He Shaan to take me to the Independent Fifth Brigade of the Eastern Guangdong Detachment (later changed to the Fourteen Detachments and Thirteen regiments, and the regimental commander Huang Xi, also known as the XiBo Unit), and was later transferred to the Guard Company of the Party Committee of the Border Region (Company Commander Mai Si).

Throughout his life, Brother Ahu was not afraid of hardships and dangers, and faced difficulties. One day in November 1948, Brother Ahu braved the cold wind and drizzle to lead seven members of our guard class to Gaopi Middle School in the enemy-occupied area to mobilize progressive students to participate in the Hanjiang Cadre School Cadre Revolution. We guarded under the bamboo forest until midnight, and it was dawn when we returned to Shangzhang.

Remembering my revolutionary leader, Liu Huwen

On the right stand the first person Liu Huwen (secretary of the Liancheng County CPC Committee); on the right stand the third person, Dai Binghui (director of the Liancheng Military Regiment); and the second person in the second row on the left is the author

On the night of March 18, 1949, the 2nd Battalion of the 12th Security Regiment of the Kuomintang in Gaopi Town, the Gaopi Self-Defense Force, and the Chaoshan Kuomintang gathered more than 800 people, equipped with more than 20 heavy machine guns, several 82 mortars, 6O cannons, grenades, grenades, and other weapons. Brother Ahu, Huang Xi, Zhong Ying, and Mai Si urgently agreed that the Thirteenth Regiment would quickly climb the mountain to seize the commanding heights to block the enemy, and Brother Ahu would be responsible for mobilizing the militia to protect the evacuation of the masses, organizing stretcher teams to rescue the wounded, and delivering water and food to the position. The battle was fought from the morning of the 19th to more than two o'clock in the afternoon, and under the cover of the guard company, all the personnel withdrew to Tai Po Kok in a safe and orderly manner. The enemy left 32 corpses and more than 20 wounded, and our thirteenth regiment lost 6 and wounded 9. The blockade successfully completed the task of defending the leading organs and the masses, and was commended by the district party committee.

On May 14, 1949, The county seat of Tai Po was liberated, followed by the liberation of various townships. One afternoon in June, I went to the guard company of the Raohe Pufeng County Party Committee to report to Huang Zhong, an instructor, according to the notice of the commander of the fourth company. Huang Zhong said to me: You and Zhang Xiaodong (the leader of the short gun squad of the 13th Regiment) followed Brother Ahu (who was appointed deputy secretary of the Longyan County Party Committee and head of the organization department) to fight a guerrilla attack in Longyan County, Fujian Province (at that time, the Kuomintang army Liu Ruming's troops were stationed in Longyan). Zhang Xiaodong believes that the whole county of Tai Po has been liberated, and we can return to our hometowns and divide the fields to live a peaceful life, so why should we go to Longyan to fight? After Huang Zhong did his work, Zhang Xiaodong thought through and decided to follow Brother Ahu to Longyan. We changed the equipment, Ahugo changed the revolver to the Browning pistol, and Xiaodong and I exchanged 20 German-made fast-release shell guns, each with 100 bullets and 2 grenades. Rao and Pufeng County Party Committee asked us to each bring 100 pieces of Guangyang and two gold rings, and gave us a trip. We trekked from Tai Po Kok to chayang, the county seat, and the next day we crossed the mountains and mountains, and two days later arrived at the county seat of Yongding, where we were received by Fan Yuanhui (secretary of the Western Fujian Prefectural Committee) and Luo Bingqin (director of organization). After resting in the county seat for three days, Wu Chaofang and Dai Binghui took us to Kanshi for one night. The next morning, after we bypassed The Nanyang Dam, Chuanxiang and Huanggang Village in Longyan, we set out on Gongping Mountain after dark and first stayed in the old mountain liao in the middle of the mountainside pit, because we could not sleep because of the humidity and mosquitoes. The next day, after dinner, he ascended Gongping Mountain and lived in a temple and a dangerous house for more than ten days. During this period, Qiu Jincai, Zhang Zhendong, Li Jinqing, and others reorganized the Independent Fifth Brigade on the mountain into the Independent Fifth Regiment, and after the reorganization, the troops immediately went down the mountain to harass the kuomintang Hu Lian's remnants, protected the safety of the common people, and resisted conscription, rafting, grain grabbing, and blocking enemy vehicles. After the personnel of the county party committee moved to the Small Creek Furnace Mountain Pit in Xiaochi Peixian and built a mountain to live in a mountain, two meals a day could not be guaranteed, and life was very difficult. Once, Hua Mingxiu, the chief of the Pei Xie Bao who provided us with rice and vegetables with "white skin and red heart", was sent by the remnants of the Kuomintang in Xiaochi to collect grain and could not get out, and we did not have rice to be cooked for three consecutive days, all by eating bitter vegetables. Even so, everyone still actively discussed and formulated a plan to take over the city.

After the liberation of Longyan County on September 1, 1949, the Longyan Party and Government Organization was established, and he and relevant leaders deployed and appointed relevant personnel arrangements for counties, districts, and towns, arranged social order, and suppressed bandits and land reform. On August 3, 1950, Ahu Ge was transferred to Liancheng as the secretary of the county party committee, and his main task was to establish a county party committee and a county government, suppress bandits and land reform. Comrade Zheng Xinfu of the guard squad of the Longyan County CPC Committee and I followed Brother Ahu to Liancheng, and at that time there were many bandits in Liancheng, some district squadrons "anti-water" went up the mountain as bandits, the second squadron of the Liancheng County Brigade also defected and burned down the Dongmen Bridge, the Wenheng District Office was secretly attacked by bandits, Chen Gang's instructor was sacrificed, and the bandits often came to harass the county town day and night, and the social situation was very dangerous. It is difficult to distinguish between the enemy and us, and Brother Ahu told me that there were internal ghosts, and asked us to heighten our vigilance, especially to prevent Zhou XX, director of the county women's federation, from secretly colluding with the enemy, and informed that among the 6 district chiefs who came to the county party committee meeting, according to our knowledge, there were 5 secret bandits, and after careful investigation and evidence collection by the public security bureau, they were all suppressed.

Honesty and Honesty in Performing Public Duties Distinguish between public and private

Brother Ahu is honest and honest in his work and life, and does not engage in specialization.

When we were transferring Ton Yan from Tai Po, Tai Po County asked us to bring 100 pieces of Guang Yang and two gold rings each. By Yongding, Yongding had just been liberated, and life was very hard, with only two meals of porridge at eight o'clock in the morning and two meals at four o'clock in the afternoon every day. Brother Ahu is 26 years old, I am 13 years old, long body, busy work, at night my stomach is grumbling, I can't sleep. I took a piece of guangyang and exchanged it for silver millizi, and went to the street to buy egg cakes and came back, thinking that Brother Ahu would definitely praise me for doing things. Unexpectedly, I was severely criticized by Brother Ahu, saying that he was not allowed to use the money given to us by the party organization and told me to return the cake. Fortunately, I hadn't eaten it yet, so I returned the cake and asked Guangyang to come back.

When we arrived at Gongping Mountain, we handed over guangyang and gold rings to the Longyan Party organization, and Zhang Xiaodong and I each drew 50 rounds of pistol bullets and handed them to Dai Binghui to support the local guerrillas.

After entering the office of Longyan County, brother Ahu lived in a room with a radio with a public home. In August 1950, when Brother Ahu was transferred to the city, I packed up the radio and took it with me when I was packing my bags. After arriving in Liancheng, Brother Ahu saw this radio, asked about the situation, and seriously criticized me. He asked me to send the radio back to the Longyan County Party Committee and ordered me to write a review letter, and together with me, he handed the radio to Wu Chaofang (then secretary of the Longyan County Cpc Committee) and apologized to him: I did not educate the people around me enough. When we were in Liancheng, according to the regulations of our party at that time, brother Ahu should eat the "middle stove" in his daily life, and the other cadres of ours should eat the "big stove." But Brother Ahu has always insisted on eating "big stoves" with us, eating only two meals a day.

In July 1952, before Brother Ahu went to serve as the secretary of the Youth Committee of the Longyan Prefectural Committee (now the Youth League Municipal Committee), with the approval of the organization, I accompanied Brother Ahu back to his hometown, and the leaders of Tai Po County knew that he was returning to Gaopi, so they explained to the district leaders to arrange matters related to life and let him live in the inn in the town. At that time, there was no hotel in Gaopi Town, and he refused to arrange it, so we laid a five-day shop in the hall of his house. Old colleagues and alumni of Gaopi Middle School also came to invite him to dinner several times, but Brother Ahu refused one by one, saying that I came back for private reasons and could not cause trouble to the place. Later, I accompanied him on a walk to my hometown of Taoyuan, to the Taoyuan Central School where he had served as the director of academic affairs, to visit old colleagues, thank them for their care for our work, and to invite them to a simple meal at their own expense.

Care for subordinates like brothers like fathers

Before joining the revolution, my name was Zhang Yinghui, and Brother Ahu said to me, "In order to facilitate secrecy and conceal your identity, your name must be changed." Now that the whole country is about to be liberated, I think you will change your name to Deng (Ding) Xiaoguang, Dawn of Dawn. "In this way, the name Deng Xiaoguang I still use to this day. In June 1958, Ahuko was delighted with twin sons. At that time, he happened to attend a meeting held by the prefectural party committee, at which chairman Mao's call that "we must catch up with Britain and surpass the United States" was conveyed, and Brother Ahu was convinced that our country would certainly be able to catch up with Britain and the United States, and named his sons "Liu Chaoying" and "Liu Chaomei" respectively. At present, Our country's comprehensive national strength has long surpassed that of Britain, and in the future, it will always catch up with and surpass the United States. Changing the names of cadres and naming their sons, Brother Ahu was very forward-looking and forward-looking in his view of the problem.

In 1957, the whole country roared. In July, Brother Ahu graduated from the Third Intermediate Party School of the CPC Central Committee in Shanghai, and when he returned to Longyan, he specially turned to Liancheng to see me and Zheng Xinfu, repeatedly explained that we should not talk indiscriminately, write big character newspapers, and took a group photo with us, encouraging us to continuously strengthen our study in our work, continuously improve our work ability, listen to the party, and follow the party.

Zhang Xiaodong went to Korea in 1951. In 1953, when I was studying in Xiamen, I received a letter from Zhang Xiaodong's troops and learned that Xiaodong had made a glorious sacrifice. Upon receiving this letter, I immediately relayed it to Brother Ahu. He immediately took the search for Xiao Dong's family to heart, entrusted a friend familiar to Tai Po to help implement it, and also told me to launch a search together, but unfortunately he was never able to contact him.

Brother Ahu attaches great importance to caring for and nurturing young people to learn and grow. In July 1952, after the basic completion of the suppression of bandits, anti-hegemony, and "one dozen and three antis" in Liancheng County, AhuGe was transferred to the secretary of the Youth Committee of the Longyan Prefectural Committee. Brother Ahu has always been concerned about my growth, thinking that I am still young and should study, so he recommended me to study at Quanzhou Jinjiang Workers' and Peasants Accelerated Primary School; in July 1953, he recommended me to study at Xiamen University Accelerated Middle School, so that I could be competent for the work requirements of multiple positions in my later work.

Brother Ahu was my enlightenment teacher and revolutionary leader, sharing immense happiness and hardships in life, treating me like a father and brother, and helping me complete my studies. Although he has been away from me for half a century, and now I am 86 years old, I still miss this good leader and elder very much, and he has turned me from an orphan into a person who can fulfill the tasks entrusted to me by the party and the people and is useful to society. I have always kept in mind brother Ahu's teachings to me, strengthened my revolutionary ideals and convictions, never forgotten the party's kindness, followed the party, always maintained the advanced nature of communist party members, and continued to strive to be an excellent communist party member.
