Among The disciples of Zhao Shuru, Chen Julai's Yuanzhu Wen seal was really first-class, and his master Zhao Shuru once commented that his "Yuan Zhu Wen is the first in modern times". Painters Zhang Daqian, Pu Xinhu, Wu Hufan, etc. very much liked his seal. On the engraving, he studied under Zhao Shuru and Huang Mufu, and once Gao Yehou asked him to learn the families of Cheng Yi, Wang Guan, and Ba WeiZu, and later formed a graceful and generous, moist and elegant style, and pushed The Song Yuanyuan Zhu Wen to the extreme. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Chen Julai entered the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy in the 1950s and received a subsidy. Ju Lai took a look at Bai Xuan, and among those who signed on the first class were Zhang Lu'an, Chen Zishou, Ye Luyuan, Ye Liqing, Hong Jieqiu, Qiu Yinqian, etc. Since Chen Julai had already planned to pay homage to the birthday gift of 500 yuan in advance, now when he saw that Zhang Lu'an wanted to determine the number of birthday gifts to determine the student's rank, and not out of level, his heart was uncomfortable, so Chen immediately stretched his face and said: "First class I am not qualified, second class middle school student, do not do, just be the last class." ”
After saying that, he couldn't wait for Zhang Lu'an to answer, so he signed his name on the third sheet. Xu Bangda and Tao Shoubo wanted to sign the third one with Chen Julai, and Zhang Lu'an saw that Chen Julai had brought a "bad head", so he pointed to Sang Huai and scolded him: "Sir is good to you, how can you not show respect at this time?"
