First of all, I think it is difficult for lake sheep to replace small-tailed cold sheep in the short term. Although many farmers have introduced lake sheep for breeding, there are many problems in the actual process, and the performance is really unsatisfactory.
First, population quality. The selection and breeding time of small tail cold sheep is much longer than that of lake sheep, the population base is large and the quality is relatively stable, plus it has long passed the frying period, since the 1980s, small tail cold sheep have been introduced everywhere for breeding, and now even if it is not the origin of small tail cold sheep (southwest of Shandong Lu), in the northeast, Inner Mongolia and northwest and many other places can buy good small tail cold sheep. The lake sheep breeding time is shorter, the origin population base is small, the population quality difference is large, the excellent population is indeed excellent, but the poor population is really poor, plus the phenomenon of lake sheep frying is very serious, it is difficult for farmers to buy good lake sheep.
Second, individual differences. The individual differences between the small-tailed cold sheep and the lake sheep can be seen at a glance, and the small-tailed cold sheep population as a whole is relatively tall, and the lake sheep, even if the best population, is difficult to match the small-tailed cold sheep in terms of individual size. In terms of growth rate, especially the growth rate of lamb fattening in the middle and late stages, it is natural that the growth rate of individual large sheep is faster, so the selection and breeding road of lake sheep is still very long.
Third, the ability to reproduce. Although the small-tailed cold sheep and the lake sheep belong to the breed of multiple breeds and lambs, the small-tailed cold sheep are better than the two. Let's not say that a single sheep, small-tailed cold sheep and lake sheep have a single birth of more than 5 ewes, we have to compare the breeding capacity of the population, small-tailed cold sheep can produce at least 95% of the ewes can produce double lambs, three lambs and four lambs can also account for 20% or 30%. Lake sheep still have many high yields of ewes, and the double lamb rate is only 70 to 80 percent, and even less three lambs and four lambs. Fourth, adaptability. The reason why lake sheep can be fried is not only related to its high reproductive rate, but at the same time it is related to the adaptability of lake sheep.
