Olivier Giroud has completed a permanent transfer from Chelsea to AC Milan with a transfer fee not disclosed.

The 34-year-old France international underwent a medical examination on Friday before thanking Chelsea for "special memories" from their three-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge.

It is understood that Olivier Giroud's transfer fee is around €1 million (£855,000) and a bonus of €1 million (£855,000), depending on multiple appearances and Champions League qualification.

On signing ac Milan, Giroud said: "My ambition is to win some trophies.

"That's why I play football. I'm a contender and I want to win again and again. ”

Olivier Giroud joined Chelsea from Arsenal in January 2018 for £18 million, winning the FA Cup, europa league and most recently the Champions League in May during his time with the Blues.

He made 119 appearances at Chelsea, scoring 39 goals, including 11 last season.

Olivier Giroud signed a new one-year contract at Chelsea last summer, with the club opting to extend it for another 12 months last month.

As 2018 World Cup winner, he competed in France's Euro 2020 as they were eliminated by Switzerland on penalties in the 16th round after a 3-3 draw after extra time.

Earlier this summer, AC Milan signed Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, who activated the option to buy the defender for £25m after a successful six-month loan.

Serie A clubs are also interested in Chelsea pairs Hakim Ziyech and Timue Bakayoko.

After a seven-year absence, they will play in the Champions League in the upcoming season.
