Olivier Giroud scored the winning goal early for ac Milan
Olivier Giroud's early strike gave ac Milan a narrow 1-0 win over Turin on Tuesday, leaving Stéfano Pioli's side topped the Serie A table.
In the first half, which had been calm, Giroud started in place of another Milan veteran, Ibrahimovic, who scored his fourth Serie A goal of the season in the 14th minute, which proved to be the winner.
Turin striker Andrea Belotti, who has recovered from injury for the first time since August, is his first start for the club and the second half away had the best chance of equalising but the shot was deflected at his mercy.
Milan goalkeeper Cyprien Tartarusanu held up the lead in the last minute, but the home side pulled away a three-point gap in the table in Thursday's home game against Napoli, rejecting Torino substitute Antonio Sanabria with a beautiful save.
"I think we played a great game," Olivier Giroud said. "Turin is a strong team, they are aggressive in tackling.
"I'm happy because we've done a good job from the start and Turin hasn't really threatened a lot of scoring opportunities. That means we're very solid at the back and we've got three points, which is the most important thing.
"We play every three days and it's not easy for the body. Everything was not perfect. ”
