First of all, the dried tea of West Lake Longjing should be brown beige, not the greener the better. And the West Lake Longjing often looks less good than the foreign Longjing.

Wuniu is an extra-early breed, which can generally sprout during the "stinging" season, and is one month earlier than the West Lake Longjing and Biluochun. If there is a so-called "West Lake Longjing" in the morning market, it is likely to be a black cow early.

From the outside, The varieties of Longjing are thinner, dry tea is thinner and long, while the early buds of black cows are thick and flat, appearing more "short and fat"
In addition, black cow early mostly contains grass flavor, while Longjing is generally bean or floral. By the way, the west lake Longjing (such as Shifeng Longjing) in the core production area, if done well, is often orchid-scented. Bean fragrance is easy to obtain, floral fragrance is hard to find.
No matter how early the West Lake Longjing is picked, even if it is the head picking, it is picked according to the standard of one bud and two leaves. There will never be a single bud dragon well.
The earlier the longjing is picked, the richer the content of the bud head, the heavier it will be, and after the bubble is opened, the bud head will face down, showing the trend of "hanging the golden bell upside down".
