Live Bar Dec. 1 Today, the Houston Rockets officially announced the assistant coaching team of new coach Stephen Silas, (from left to right) Rick Higgins, Jeff Hornaceck, John Lucas, Will Weaver and De Sagana Diop.
Higgins has spent the past two seasons with the Magic as an assistant coach/player development coach.
Hornasek worked as a teaching assistant at the Jazz and later as head coach at the Suns and Knicks.
Lucas previously coached the Spurs, 76ers and Cavaliers, served as an assistant coach for the Nuggets and Clippers, and served as rocket player development coach since the 2016-17 season.
Weaver previously served as a 76ers, Nets assistant coach, and was named Development League Coach of the Year in 2018-19 when he coached the Nets' Long Island Nets. In March 2019, Weaver became head coach of Australian league side Sydney Kings.
Diop played in the NBA for 12 seasons as a player, joined the Texas Legends as a player development coach in 2014-15, and was later promoted to assistant coach. He has spent the past four seasons as a teaching assistant at the Jazz.
