Zhao Yu
Zhao Yu (1240 – August 12, 1274), also known as Emperor Duzong of Song (r. 1264–1274), was the sixth emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty, nephew of Zhao Yun of Song, son of Zhao and Rui the Prince of Rong, and was originally named Meng Qi, also known as Zi and Changyuan.
Because Emperor Lizong of Song was childless, Zhao Yu was adopted as an adopted son and was successively named the King of Jian'an, the King of Yongjia, and the King of Zhong. In the first year of Jingding (1260), he was made crown prince. Jingding succeeded to the throne in the fifth year (1264), and the following year changed his era name to "Xianchun". At the time of his ascension to the throne, the Jin Dynasty had been destroyed for many years, and when the army of the Northern Mongolian Yuan was moving south in a big way, and when the country was in trouble, he handed over the power of the military state to Jia Rudao, leaving the splendid rivers and mountains of the Southern Song Dynasty in the south of the Anjiang River in the dark.
Zhao Yu reigned for 10 years, and died in Lin'an in the tenth year of Xianchun (1274), at the age of 35, emperor Wujingxiao of the Wujing Civilization, the temple number Duzong, and the funeral of Jiyong Shaoling.

Early life

Because he was the only boy of the emperor's close relatives, he was protected by the whole province, but he had been poisoned by traditional Chinese medicine, born weak, weak in hands and feet, could walk very late, could speak at the age of seven, and had a lower intelligence than normal level, Song Lizong equipped him with a good teacher, carefully taught, still could not make him enlightened, often made the emperor faint. Zuo Cheng Xiang Wu Qian did not agree to make this mentally handicapped child the heir of the Great Song Dynasty, and requested that another disciple of the Sect Berth be chosen, but Song Lizong was selected by Shi Miyuan from the people, and originally had little to do with the Song Sect Room, of course, he did not want to. Jia Xiangdao took the opportunity to enter the rumors and demoted Wu Qian to other places, and others did not dare to say more.
He was made Crown Prince
On the sixth day of the first month of June in the first year of Jingding (1260), he was made crown prince, given the character Changyuan, and appointed Yang Dong and Ye Mengding as crown princes. On the first day of July, the crown prince entered the Eastern Palace. On the seventeenth day, the canonization ceremony was held. At that time, Lizong's tutoring was very strict, and the chicken first ming greeted An, then returned to the palace, and Sanming went to the meeting to participate in the handling of state affairs. Then he returned to the lecture hall, where the lecturer preached the scriptures, followed by history, and kept his hands on the scrolls all day long. When it was late, I went to the bed again to live and became accustomed to it. Rizong asked him what he was talking about today, and if he answered correctly, he would give him a seat and give tea; otherwise, he would explain and analyze it repeatedly; if he still did not understand, Rizong would be angry and demand that it must be explained again tomorrow.

Fainting and absurd
After Emperor Duzong of Song ascended the throne, he was weak and incompetent, his IQ was lower than that of normal people, and he was more absurd than Lizong, and he feasted in the harem all day and drank and had fun with his concubines. It is recorded in the "Continuation of the Zizhi Tongjian Song Ji 180": "The emperor himself is a prince, with a good internal smell; The story, the concubine enters the palace, the morning is the door of thanksgiving, and the lord writes his moon and day. And at the beginning of the emperor, there were more than thirty people who thanked the benevolent people in one day. The general meaning of this passage is that Zhao Yu was known for his lust when he was crown prince. This was still the case after becoming emperor. According to the old practice in the palace, if the palace concubine was summoned to sleep with the emperor at night, she would go to the gate the next morning to thank the emperor for his favor, and the eunuch in charge would record the date of the blessing in detail. When Zhao Yu had just become emperor, one day there were more than 30 concubines in Xie En's palace before the gate.
After Emperor Duzong of Song ascended the throne, even the official documents of approval were handed over to the four most favored women, known as the four ladies of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Feng Jia xiangdao was made a master, doubly favored, and entrusted the government to him. Jia Xiang saw that Duzong was even more faint than Lizong, and he was even more arbitrary, and he had no heavenly son, and if he did not pay any attention, he threatened to resign from the official, and Duzong was afraid that he would not quit and leave, always bowing down on his knees and bowing down, and holding him with tears. Specially granted Jia XiangDao Pingzhang a military and state affair, and allowed him to have three days and one dynasty. Later, it was relaxed to ten days and one dynasty, and every time he retreated from the dynasty, Emperor Duzong always had to leave his seat to watch him walk out of the main hall before he dared to sit down. He also built a beautiful residence for him in Geling, West Lake. Jia Rudao's wanton fornication led to the darkness of the government.
The Battle of Xiangfan
After Kublai Khan seized the Mongol Khan's throne and stabilized the interior, he sent troops to invade the Sichuan region of the Great Song Dynasty, and along the han river, besieged Xiangyang in the fourth year of Emperor Duzong Xianchun (1268), and besieged Fancheng in the fifth year of Xianchun (1269). However, Jia Rudao hid and did not report it, nor did he send reinforcements. As a result, Xiangfan was besieged for three years, and the situation was very critical. Later, Duzong knew about it and asked Jia Xiangdao. Jia Rudao still concealed the truth, saying: "The Mongol soldiers have retreated, who made this rumor?" Duzong replied that a palace maid had told him, and Jia Rudao killed the palace maid. Such a decadent rule put the Song Dynasty on the eve of its demise.

In the first month of the ninth year of Xianchun (1273), Fancheng was attacked by the Yuan army, and in February of the same year, the Xiangyang defender Lü Wenhuan surrendered the city when he ran out of food. When the news came, Jia Rudao pretended to lead the army to go out, and the timid and incompetent Duzong dragged Jia Xiangdao to death and did not let him go on the expedition.

In the tenth year of Xianchun (1274), on the seventh day of the Xianchun Dynasty, Emperor Duzong died in the Funing Hall in Lin'an Palace due to excessive alcohol, and was succeeded by the crown prince Zhao Xian. In August of the same year, on the day of his unitary day, shangchen was given the title of Emperor Wujingxiao of Duanming and emperor Duzong of the temple. In the first year of the First Year of Deyou (1275), he was buried in the Yongshao Tomb.
