Zhao Yu

Zhao Yu (1240 – August 12, 1274), also known as Emperor Duzong of Song (r. 1264–1274), was the sixth emperor of the Southern Song Dynasty, nephew of Zhao Yun of Song, son of Zhao and Rui the Prince of Rong, and was originally named Meng Qi, also known as Zi and Changyuan.

In the first year of Jingding (1260), he was made crown prince. Jingding succeeded to the throne in the fifth year (1264), and the following year changed his era name to "Xianchun". The general meaning of this passage is that Zhao Yu was known for his lust when he was crown prince. This was still the case after becoming emperor. According to the old practice in the palace, if the palace concubine was summoned to sleep with the emperor at night, she would go to the gate the next morning to thank the emperor for his favor, and the eunuch in charge would record the date of the blessing in detail. When Zhao Yu had just become emperor, one day there were more than 30 concubines in Xie En's palace before the gate.

The Battle of Xiangfan

After Kublai Khan seized the Mongol Khan's throne and stabilized the interior, he sent troops to invade the Sichuan region of the Great Song Dynasty, and along the han river, besieged Xiangyang in the fourth year of Emperor Duzong Xianchun (1268), and besieged Fancheng in the fifth year of Xianchun (1269). In August of the same year, on the day of his unitary day, shangchen was given the title of Emperor Wujingxiao of Duanming and emperor Duzong of the temple. In the first year of the First Year of Deyou (1275), he was buried in the Yongshao Tomb.
