Accidents are always sudden and always catch people off guard. On this day, Ran Ran took a nap at home, and only her grandmother was at home. Ran Ran, who was sleeping soundly, did not know that he had inadvertently turned over as usual, and fell to the ground, ushering in the end of his life. After a while, when the grandmother came to the room to check the child's sleeping situation, she found that Ran Ran was already lying on the ground, and there was no reaction, so she rushed the child to the hospital.

When he was sent to the hospital, the doctor diagnosed that the child had been traumatic and needed surgery. Although the operation had been performed immediately, because the injury of Ran Ran, who was only 1 year old, was too serious, even the doctor was unable to return to heaven.
Two days later, the doctor regrettably told Ran Ran's mother that the child was brain dead. The mother was devastated to hear this news, and sent a lot of content about Ran Ran in the circle of friends, saying a lot of sensational words: "I haven't taken you to see the snow, I haven't taken you to play, I haven't taken you to have my first birthday, and I haven't taken you to buy New Year's gifts." ”
In fact, the trigger for this tragedy is the child's fall into bed, a small accident that seems to be "not a big deal", but it takes away the pearl in the palm of a family.
According to statistics, in the period from 2010 to 2015, among the cases of child injuries, falls and falls were the most numerous types of injuries.
Many parents have a fluke mentality that it should not matter if their children fall, it is precisely such a mentality that has led to more and more tragic incidents caused by falling into bed in recent years.
Strengthen protection and reduce the probability of accidents
Rather than being an afterthought, I prefer to get moms and dads to do prevention in the first place. Most of the reasons why your baby will fall out of bed is because of inadequate protection.
An 8-month-old boy in Jiaozhou accidentally fell from a half-meter-high bed while sleeping, and when his parents found out, the child almost lost consciousness. When you take your child to the hospital for a ct scan of your head, you find that your child has accumulated a lot of blood in the skull.
In this kind of tragedy, we can guess that the child should be alone at home to rest, and there is no protective fence around the half-meter-high bed, if the boy's family did some protection before the crash, I think the boy would not be in this situation.
Protective measures need to do two things:
1. Strengthen care
When the child sleeps, it is best to be taken care of by the young parents themselves, and when taken care of by the elderly, it is easy to cause the inability to deal with the critical situation in time due to physical inconvenience. When the child sleeps, try to ensure that it is within the range of the parents' visibility, and when the child has "unconsciously" slept on the edge of the bed, parents can help the child move the position.
2. Strengthen the protection of the bed
Most cribs have a relatively high protective fence, so this one doesn't need to be handled extra. If the baby sleeps in the bed of the parents, the parents can build a protective fence around the baby, just in case.
Even if the preventive measures are in place, we cannot completely eliminate the occurrence of the crash, so we also need to have a certain amount of first aid knowledge, so that when the child falls into the bed, the first aid can be carried out, to a certain extent, the harm caused by the incident to the child.
3. Surrounding environment arrangement
On the floor around the foot of the bed, you can lay some softer things, such as sponge pads and the like.
Common fall treatment methods:
First, observe
As soon as the child lands, he begins to cry, usually because the situation is not too serious. In contrast, the child did not cry after falling, and it is likely that he lost consciousness temporarily.
So the first step is to observe, parents see the child falling into bed, set aside 10-20s to pick up the child. These ten seconds are spent to see if the child's physical activity is affected.
After that, we also need to continue to observe for 24-48 hours, and more serious injuries like concussions generally have a period of loss of consciousness, so we can't take it lightly and lock our eyes on the child.
Second, the response method in the event of bleeding
We can judge the degree of injury to a child by the speed of bleeding. The bleeding should be faster if it hurts the baby's aortic artery. The more slow onset are veins and capillaries.
When encountering severe bleeding, we should not clean up the wound for the time being, but stop the bleeding in time. The child's bleeding area is elevated, and parents can take sterile gauze directly to the child's wound and hold it tightly until the bleeding is no longer bleeding. If you still can't successfully stop the bleeding, you need to rush to the hospital as soon as possible for treatment.
After the child falls into bed, he has a nosebleed, he needs to let the baby sit up first, and then the parents can pinch the sides of the baby's nose for about ten minutes, during which they cannot let go. After two attempts, if the nosebleed does not stop, you should go to the emergency department immediately. When encountering nosebleeds, parents must remember not to let the child lie flat or look up, and do not stuff the child's nose with something like a tissue.
If your child is bleeding from abrasions, the wound can be washed before disinfectant medicine is applied.
3. How to deal with when there is no bleeding
When the child is not bleeding, it does not mean that the child is safe, and it is also possible that the child has fallen to a bone, affecting limb movement, that is, fracture.
If your baby has a sprained ankle, it will basically recover within 2 weeks.
When moving a baby's limb, it is likely that a fracture is found to be locally swollen and warm, or when the baby is reluctant to move one limb. Parents can make a simple limb-fixing thing, such as a splint that can be used as a fixture with a magazine. If the fracture is a leg, waist, or back, do not pick up the child from the ground, and contact 120 to seek emergency personnel first to avoid more serious injuries caused by your own behavior.
Why are the consequences of a child falling out of bed so serious?
In fact, falling out of bed does not only happen to children, adults sometimes accidentally fall out of bed. But it doesn't seem to have a big impact, why is the consequences so serious for babies.
In fact, this has a certain relationship with the body structure of infants and young children, when the baby is small, the proportion of the head is relatively high, if it falls to the ground, then most of the situation is the head landing on the ground. Our brain has many organs, and the brain is also the center that controls the functions of the body, so once the center is damaged, it will endanger life!
In addition, there is another reason is that the baby's blood clotting function in early childhood is relatively poor, so at the beginning, you may not see any problems, and the injury will be revealed after a long time. By that time, it may be too late.
Will the child's intelligence affect when he falls on the head?
This is something that many parents are afraid of, worried that their children will become fools when they fall like this. As long as the general fall does not hurt the brain tissue, it basically has no effect on intelligence.
When the neighbor's child is nervous, he likes to pat his head, and his mother often tells him that patting his head will become stupid. Even a fall doesn't necessarily affect intelligence, and just patting your head doesn't make you stupid. Moms are coming out of this misunderstanding!
Once bitten by a snake, ten years afraid of well rope
Some of us learn to remember sex after the fact, but in the face of things that endanger life safety, I still hope that all mothers will not have such an experience. The occurrence of falls is not limited to the bed, but even to windows, stairs and other places.
This year, there have been more than three falls in Guizhou, one of which fell from the 5th floor to the platform on the 3rd floor, and finally rescued it. The remaining two were not so lucky. Every year from April to November is the peak period of the baby's accidents, and the climate is suitable for the baby to become more active and can move around and climb at will. Children in the exploration period who are in the midst of a burst of curiosity prefer to feel "personally" themselves, and 80% of the cases of falling down are 4-6-year-old children in the exploration period.
Pillow Parenting Message:
It is inevitable that there will be accidents with the baby, but even so, I hope that parents can ensure a relatively calm state in an emergency. Panic is more likely to make mistakes, so it is appropriate to let go of some anxiety. Rather than blaming ourselves afterwards, I hope that we can be "diligent" and protect the children as much as possible, starting from the source.
