In 2018, Ford unveiled the new Mustang Bullitt, a tribute to Steve McQueen's classic film bulitt in 1968.

Steve McQueen's granddaughter Molly attended the launch of the 2018 Detroit Auto Show Bulitt, but what really caught the eye was the 1968 Highland Green Mustang on display next to it, one of the two Mustangs used in the movie Police Mesh King Kong.
In 1968, Warner Bros. Films used two mustangs for film bulitts, one of which was used to shoot scene shots and the other was modified for film stunt scenes.
After filming, the McQueen car was sold by Warner Bros. to a private buyer named Robert M. Rose, while the other was taken to the scrap yard.
Robert kept the car at home after he bought it. The car is mainly used for everyday driving. It is now estimated to be worth $4 million,
After Robert's death, his son Kiernans inherited the Mustang. McQueen also tried to buy the car from the vehicle's heirs, Kiernans, but failed. After Mr Kiernan's death in 2014, his son Sean inherited the car.
Eventually, Sean decided to contact the Historic Vehicle Association (HVA) in Washington, D.C., and the Mustang is now the twenty-first to join the association's car program.
HVA is making the car's story into a documentary, "Little Pieces: Bullitt Mustang's Untold Story," which is currently in production and is expected to be released later this year.
