Orbital era poster

According to Japanese media reports, Katsuyo Otomo will direct the new science fiction animated film Orbital era, and at the same time publish the poster of the film.

Orbital Era will be Katsuyo Otomo's third feature film after Akira and Steam Boy. The story will focus on the life of a young man in a space colony, where fate is likely to show a cruel side in a human society far away from Earth. In the exposed poster, a boy dressed in a spacesuit and wearing a Soviet helmet can be seen standing alone on an empty colony with a skateboard, very far from the earth. Katsuyo Otomo said the reality of humanity's future "will be described through their perspective."

In 1983, Katsuhiro Otomo won the Japan SF Award for "Children's Dreams", an award in the science fiction industry that was awarded to manga artists for the first time. Katsuyo Otomo is very obsessed with technology, and the coldness of the machine at the same time makes him examine the relationship between people and technology with a calm attitude. Akira, The Old Man, Metropolis, and SteamBoy are all built on technological development, but the highly developed technology in the end will eventually be destroyed.
