Under the manipulation of the Taiwan authorities' "de-Sinicization," Taiwanese writers and media people have recently complained one after another that the children on the island do not even know who Yue Fei and Sun Yat-sen are. Just after the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, a university professor in Taiwan analyzed 5 versions of history textbooks in the past 60 years and found that the introduction to the Xinhai Revolution was deleted again and again, from more than 6,000 words in the 1964 unified edition to just over 300 words left in the 2020 Hanlin edition, "shorter than a news bulletin"...

According to Taiwan's "China Times" on October 11, Taiwanese academic circles define the "Xinhai Revolution" into a narrow and broad sense. In the narrow sense, it refers to the Wuchang Uprising on October 10, 1911, to Sun Yat-sen's inauguration as provisional president of the Republic of China on New Year's Day in 1912. The broad sense was pushed forward to the establishment of the Xingzhong Association in 1894.
In the atmosphere of "de-Sinicization" in which the Taiwan authorities are obsessed, Professor Wu Kuncai of Chiayi University in Taiwan pointed out that 60 years ago, the history textbooks of the Middle School of China described the Xinhai Revolution in as many as 6,000 words, but now they are only 364 words, which is shorter than a news message. Without a historical context, there is only one Sun Yat-sen left.

Wu Kuncai analyzed the past 5 editions of the history textbook of the Middle School and found that in 1964, with a length of 2 chapters and 17 pages, more than 6,000 words faithfully presented the background, process, and results of the Xinhai Revolution, admiring the achievements of Sun Yat-sen's revolution, and at the same time, it was also the only version of the Three People's Principles.
By 1983, the version now read by the 40- and 50-year-old Taiwanese people, the Xinhai Revolution was reduced to 1 chapter and 10 pages, and the broad text was cut in half, but there were still 2497 words, and the narrow text had 1369 words. This version honors the 72 martyrs of Huanghuagang and the Xinhai Revolution.
Lee Teng-hui's administration was a watershed.
In 1994, the last edition of the National Compilation Museum's history textbook, the Xinhai Revolution text was cut in half, the discussion was brief, the protagonist of the Wuchang Uprising, Li Yuanhong, disappeared, the aftermath of the revolution was almost gone, and the Huanghuagang Uprising was only mentioned. Wu Kuncai bluntly said that this version "lacks warmth and respect" for the Xinhai Revolution.
The situation was even worse after that. In 2012, only 472 words were left in the broad sense and 212 words in the narrow sense; in 2020, only 364 words were left in the broad sense and 139 words in the narrow sense.
Professor Wu pointed out that students have little understanding of the Xinhai Revolution, let alone have any respect or recognition for this history. In terms of characters, except for Sun Yat-sen, important figures such as Huang Xing, Lu Haodong, and Li Yuanhong are completely missing, and the academic principles of people, events, times, and places in history have completely lost their effect and become a history textbook with "no face".
On the 11th, The China Times also published a commentary under the title of "The Green Edition of the Syllabus Hollows Out the Historical Source", criticizing, "The Green Camp deliberately talks about the Xinhai Revolution and the Founding Father Sun Yat-sen in the middle school textbook, and the ideology behind it is self-evident." ”
A few days ago, the "Eastern Sen News Network" reported that a recording by Taiwanese writer Wu Tanru mentioned that after the "de-Sinicization" education reform, many Taiwanese children do not know who Sun Yat-sen is. She revealed that in order to let her daughter who is studying in primary school have companions, she opened a free tutoring class, and one day mentioned "Sun Kang" when explaining the allusion of "Nang Yingxue", and brought a sentence of "Sun Yat-sen's grandson" in passing, but the students did not know who Sun Yat-sen was, which made her quite shocked.
On October 3, Zhao Shaokang, a well-known media person on the island, posted on Facebook with the title of "The DPP's historical policy of fooling the people will be laughed at by history", he introduced that Yue Fei's "fine loyalty to the country" was originally a catchy story for most people. This is surprising. Coupled with the recent Wu Tanru saying that children do not know who Sun Yat-sen is, two real events have proved that whether the quality of students has really improved from the teaching reform to the present is debatable, but it is an indisputable fact that the "broken chain" of history has been caused.
On the morning of October 9, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, president of the people, and chairman of the Central Military Commission, pointed out at the meeting to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution that "Taiwan independence" and separatism are the biggest obstacle to the reunification of the motherland and a serious hidden danger to national rejuvenation. Those who have forgotten their ancestors, betrayed the motherland, and split the country will never end well and will certainly be spurned by the people and judged by history.
