Yu Xingxi's "Mother" recounts the "mother's" loyalty to the Communist Party, her attachment to that yellow land, her pursuit of a better life, her dedication to her children's affection, and her interpretation of the truth, goodness, and beauty of the world.

With the strength of the wine, we pulled him to the county seat and drank for two more days, and sang "Lamb Belly Hand Towel Three Dao Blue" to leave a shadow. The third time was to go home with my lover to visit the old mother, when we went to Jingbian County, in the process of mourning the mother of the old comrade-in-arms Wang Qifu, I was shocked to hear of the death of the father of the old comrade-in-arms He Haitang, that is, we continued to drive to He Yangpan in Huang artemisia Township, during which we also specially asked Haitang about the recent situation of Zhou Yuanlao. The fourth time was the Qingming Dynasty in 2019, my lover and I went back to our hometown to visit the grave, and overheard the grandchildren of the second aunt who had fled to Anse in 1929, and they temporarily lived in the aforementioned Yang Liang, so they went to visit. This time, we also stood on Yang Liang's lemon knot and quietly looked at Zhou Yuanlao, about four or five miles to the southwest for a while. My lover once pointed to the back box of the car and joked that if Xingxi and Xingju were here today, we would also pour three cups on them both. Zhou Yuanlao is an ordinary small village in our Beisanshe and Jingbian County, and its fame does not come from history, nor from nature, nor from any landscape, but from a family with the surname Yu.
"Mother" is the epitome of the most grass-roots Communist Party members in rural China; although they have a low level of education and little literacy, some of them are even illiterate, and they cannot understand "International", but they just know that the Communist Party of China is a political party that serves the people and is a political party that allows the people to be the masters of their own affairs. Xingxi's "Mother" narrates the life of the mother from 1937 to the present day and the changes in their family from one side, and fully shows the process of how the mother moved from spontaneous to self-conscious through the time span of nearly one century. If "Mother" is the "mother" of the proletariat of the whole world, then "Mother" is the "mother" of the peasants in rural China.
