The "burial horse stone" of QingliangShan in Xiuyan, Anshan, originally had such a legend

How did the "burial horse stone" of Qingliangshan come about? There are two legends circulating in the local area:

One legend is that according to legend, when Li Shimin, the King of Tang, conquered the east, he made Xue Li a marshal. Xue Li and the enemy general Gai Suwen fought fiercely at the foot of Qingliang Mountain, and Gai Suwen was defeated by Xue Li and fled into the wilderness. Xue Li quickly chased to the bottom of Qingliang Mountain, saw that Gai Suwen was going to flee into the deep mountain, hurriedly took a bow to shoot arrows, who knew that at this time the war horse lost its front hoof, Xue Li shot an arrow into the air, let Gai Suwen escape, the arrow shot on the cliff of Qingliang Mountain Baiyun Valley, although it did not shoot through the cliff, but it left a huge square hole in the cliff, which is the so-called "arrow eye".

This arrow is still clearly visible today as we stand at the foot of the mountain. The warhorse that had been accompanying Xue Li to the southern expedition to the north for many years saw that he had a negative master, and he felt very guilty in his heart, and when his master was not prepared, he crashed into a boulder in the mountain and buried himself in the boulder. Later, people called this stone "Burial Horse Stone".

Another theory is that at the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the "Old Han King", that is, the Qing Taizu Nurhaci fought with the Ming army at the foot of Qingliang Mountain in order to compete for Liaodong, Nurhaci's beloved war horse died of an arrow, and the Old Han King was very sad, so he buried it thickly in the small river with rich water and grass, and disposed of this stone as a monument in the burial horse, so it was called "Burial Horse Stone".

Although the legend is not credible, it more or less carries the shadow of history. These legends also prove from the side that Qingliangshan, which is high and densely forested and has a dangerous terrain, has been a place where soldiers and families must fight since ancient times.

In the late 1980s, a local stonemason saw that the boulder by the river was of excellent stone quality and wanted to split it to build a wall to build a house. Who knew that when the stone opened, a loud noise was emitted, and a red light flew out, and the stonemason was frightened on the spot and seriously ill. Later, the villagers found that there was a "galloping horse" on each of the two sections of the split boulder. The "galloping horse" has a high head, a ponytail cocked, and four hooves in the air. So people said that this was Xue Li's "burial horse stone" in that year, and some people said that it was the burial place of the "Old Han King". Half of the boulder, which has now been split in half, still stands by the small river, and the other half lies upside down in the river. Those who have seen the "burial stone" have all lamented and sighed for this fierce horse that is loyal to its owner.
