Late Friday night, the House of Representatives passed a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, and New York State will receive more than $170 billion in revenue.
According to the New York Post, some of the bill's most important items include:
In terms of highways: $12.5 billion, of which: $11.5 billion for roads and highways, $1.9 billion for bridge repairs, and $142 million for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Airports: Nearly $1 billion, of which: JFK - $294,682,575, LaGuardia Airport: $150,00008,970, Long Island MacArthur (Long Island Macarthur) $21,595,630.
Rail: $58 billion, of which $22 billion was spent on improving Amtrak, including the Gateway Tunnel project under the Hudson River. $24 billion was spent on the modernization of the Northeast Corridor. $12 billion is spent on intercity passenger rail, including high-speed rail.
Water: $90 billion, of which $14.7 billion goes to the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, which provides grants and loans for infrastructure projects. $14.7 billion went to the EPA's State Clean Water Recycling Fund, which provides loans to states to improve water quality. $55.4 billion in supplementary emergency allocations.
Public transportation: $9.8 billion for clean energy buses and public transportation
The funding will also mean faster ferries, complete the hov lanes of the staten island expressway, and upgrade the city's sewer system to better address issues such as flooding.

This bold legislation will help ordinary people solve some of the practical problems they face. The last four presidents have not passed a major infrastructure bill, and we are finally done.
