On April 22, 1931, Luo Shengjiao was born in Xinhua, Hunan Province, to a poor peasant family.
When Luo Shengjiao was a child, his father Luo Dikai told him that if he wanted to defend his family and defend the country and defend peace, he could only study diligently and learn more skills.
Such a simple concept took root in Xiao Shengjiao's heart. So he began to study hard. When he was 11 years old, his family sent him to the nearby Restoration Primary School, and later transferred to Wende Primary School. At the age of 14, the third uncle Luo Diwen brought Xiaoshengjiao to study in the Xiangxi Institute, and the following year he went to the sixth grade of the provincial Ninth Division's primary school to transfer and skip the level to study. With a tenacious and hard-working spirit, he stormed the mathematics pass, every night he picked up the lamp and studied hard late at night, and when he graduated, he was admitted to the provincial Ninth Normal School with an excellent score of 75 points in mathematics.
In November 1949, Luo Shengjiao joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army and entered the Xiangxi Military and Political Cadre School. After graduating in March 1950, he was assigned to study in a clerical training class, and on July 1 of the same year, he joined the New Democratic Youth League, and after the completion of the study period, he was reconnaissance and re-appointed under the 41st Division of the Forty-seventh Army.

On April 6, 1951, Luo Shengjiao participated in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea with his unit.
Once, after the enemy artillery attack, Luo Shengjiao and his comrades faintly heard the cries of children. Over the hillside, they saw a small child crying and pounced on a woman next to an air raid shelter, constantly shouting "Ama ni", covered in blood. Witnessing this tragic scene, Luo Shengjiao's heart was filled with sorrow. He and his comrades buried the North Korean woman and entrusted the child to a North Korean grandfather to raise. That night, Luo Shengjiao could not sleep, he took a flashlight and wrote these words in his diary: "When I am hit by the bullets of the invaders, I hope you will not stay in front of my corpse; you should continue to move forward bravely to avenge the tens of millions of Korean people and comrades who sacrificed!" ”

In the early morning of January 2, 1952, four North Korean teenagers were skating on the Kakunuma River near Ishida-ri, Seongcheon-gun, South Pyongan Province, when one of them, Choe Young, accidentally fell into a 2.7-meter-deep ice cave, and the other three shouted for help. Luo Sheng passed there after teaching the morning exercise, heard the shouting, and immediately rushed to the place of the accident.
As he ran, he took off his cotton clothes and pants, braved the cold of -20 ° C, and jumped into the ice cave and dived into the water to find it. He lifted Cui Ying out of the water twice, both because the ice around the ice cave broke and fell into the water. He used his last strength to push Cui Ying out of the water again. Cui Ying was rescued, and he was finally exhausted and rushed by the rapids to the far underside of the ice, and by the time his comrades rescued him ashore, he had stopped breathing and died at the age of 21.
A spiritual monument that never fades

Although Luo Shengjiao's life was fixed at the age of 21, his spirit had the power to travel through time and space.
On February 3, 1952, in recognition of the great internationalism and revolutionary heroism of Luo Shengjiao, the Political Department of the Chinese Volunteer Army posthumously awarded him the title of "Model of Loving the People of the First Class" in recognition of the great internationalism and revolutionary heroism of Luo Shengjiao. On April 1 of the same year, the Central Committee of the Chinese New Democratic Youth League posthumously awarded him the title of "Model Youth League Member".
In June 1952, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK posthumously awarded the Rasang-d'êt National Flag Medal of the First Class, and built a memorial pavilion and a monument on the fo ti dong mountain, which was engraved with Kim Il-sung's handwritten inscription: "The internationalist spirit of the rassang martyrs will coexist with the Korean people forever."
In order to repay the favor of the volunteers, Choe Young, who was rescued by the Luo Shengjiao, later joined the Korean People's Army and became a soldier like the Luo Shengjiao.
In 2009, Luo Shengjiao was selected as one of the "100 Chinese Objects That Have Touched Since the Founding of New China" in China. In September 2019, Luo Shengjiao's sister-in-law, chen Chun, who is over 70 years old, walked into the Great Hall of the People and received the "Most Beautiful Strivers" honorary medal awarded by the state to the martyrs of Luo Shengjiao. "This is an honorary title conferred by the state on advanced elements and outstanding representatives of all walks of life in various periods since the founding of New China, and it is a glory that has gone down in the annals of history!" On June 22, recalling the experience of receiving the award, the elderly Chen Chun said.

When studying at the Xiangxi Military and Political Cadre School, Luo Shengjiao rushed ahead in all his hardships and tiring deeds. In the winter of 1949, the large tree used by the school to make a bridge was sawn down and rolled into the ditch, and the teachers and students tied the trunk with ropes and pulled it upwards, and Luo Shengjiao rolled up his trouser legs in spite of the cold, jumped into the ditch, and lifted the trunk vigorously. The other students also jumped into the water and lifted the tree up together. Because of this incident, Luo Shengjiao's squadron was awarded the title of "Pioneer".
Although his life is only 21 years short, his spirit of internationalism, which has been baptized by the years, still shines in the sky of the new era. As a spiritual monument that will never fade, Luo Sheng's teachings on people, deeds, and character will always inspire countless Chinese sons and daughters to consciously link their personal ideals with the future of the country.
