In early December 1894, outside Beijing, on the side of the avenue leading to Zhangjiakou, a literati looked solemn, a chivalrous man carried a large knife, as if he was going out of the door, and behind them, several literati were full of sadness and indignation...
At this time, the wind and Xiao Xiao road were long, and a Gansu man who dared to speak out was about to begin his journey of ten thousand miles to charge the Ulya Sutai army.
Gansu's first "college entrance examination winner"
This Gansu native is named An Weijun. A few days earlier, one of his notes had provoked Cixi's wrath, and in order to protect him, the Guangxu Emperor had preemptively issued a decree to charge him into Uria Sutai. This corresponds to the poem of Han Yu in the Tang Dynasty: "A letter of the Ninth Heaven is played, and the Chaozhou Road is eight thousand." ”
An Weijun (1854-1925), zi Xiaofeng, was a native of Qin'an, Gansu. He was born into a very poor family and once stayed at his uncle's house to study. However, he studied very hard, and in the twelfth year of Tongzhi (1873), he was elected as a tribute, and later served as a qipin official in the punishment department.
Who knows, two years later, An Weijun actually became the first "college entrance examination winner" in Gansu. The story goes like this: After Zuo Zongtang ran the northwest, while calming down the war, he also vigorously operated the local area and restored the vitality of the locality. In order to encourage the confidence of Gansu readers and cultivate talents, Zuo Zongtang asked Shaanxi and Gansu to divide the waters. That is to say, the students of Shaanxi and Gansu Provinces are tested separately, which solves the difficulty of Gansu students trekking thousands of miles and provides more opportunities for Gansu students.
With the efforts of the people, the Gansu Gongyuan was built in the first year of Guangxu (1875). An Weijun heard the news in Beijing and returned to Gansu to participate in the township examination. This is the first township test ever held in Lanzhou in Gansu Province. More than 2,700 students from Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang and other places took the exam. An Weijun passed the exam in one fell swoop, and his name was Passed on to Long Right.
This is appropriately the first "college entrance examination winner" in Gansu.
Six years later, An Weijun took the exam and entered the high school. After passing the temple examination, he was selected as a Shu Jishi of the Hanlin Academy, and three years later he was given the post of editor. In the nineteenth year of Guangxu (1893), An Weijun was appointed as the inspector of Fujian Province.
Guangxu intervened to save his life
At this time, the social crisis of the Qing Dynasty was deepening day by day, and the Sino-Japanese Sino-Japanese War was on the verge of breaking out. During his 14-month term of office, He wrote such recitals as "Please Strictly Determine the Ministers' Alliance with the Party and Punish them for Personal Gain", "Please Ming Zhao To Discuss the Tablets", "Please Make a Quick Decision", and "Please Make a Quick Decision". Of course, the most famous is "Please Curse Li Hongzhang". However, he did not know that his sonata was about to bring him death.
This is the second day of the first two days of December in the twentieth year of Guangxu. Before this, the Guangxu Emperor said in the holy oracle that current events are difficult, and there are words and officials who talk about it, and we must accept it with an open heart. However, major military affairs must be followed by the Empress Dowager's instructions. Despite this, An Weijun wrote the famous "Please Curse Li Hongzhang" and played it on the second day of the first year. He said in the song: "Since the empress dowager has returned to the emperor, if she is still restrained by things, she will be up to the ancestors and down to the subjects of the world." He pointed out that Cixi deceived the monarch, mistook power and misguided the country, and connived at eunuchs to interfere in politics. This piece of paper suddenly offended three of the most powerful figures in the late Qing Dynasty at that time: Cixi, Li Hongzhang, and Li Lianying.
When the Guangxu Emperor saw An Weijun's recital, he was shocked, "Shuo also wants to be an emperor with real power, but he can't say that!" "This is something to be left out quickly. Of course, An Weijun spoke for him, and he still had to protect him.
Therefore, the Guangxu Emperor immediately issued an order, and An Weijun was dismissed from his post and sent to Ulya Sutai to charge the army. ZhiRui, who was the minister of Uria Sutai at that time, admired An Weijun very much, and later carved a seal for him, which contained the words "Longshang Iron Man". It can be said that Guangxu protected An Weijun in disguise.
However, at that time, Empress Dowager Cixi was very angry and said, Has this matter passed like this? Isn't that a light penalty? At this time, Prince Gong on the side hurriedly said that in the three hundred years since the founding of the dynasty, he had never killed a minister who raised opinions. This dispelled Empress Dowager Cixi's murderous intentions, and An Weijun escaped the disaster.
Twenty-five years after Guangxu, An Weijun was released and returned to his hometown to teach and educate people. Later, he presided over the completion of the "Gansu New Tongzhi" in Lanzhou. In 1925, An Weijun died in his hometown of Qin'an at the age of 72.
