In late October 1940, more than 510 people from the Okazaki detachment of the Japanese army secretly attacked the Huangyadong Arsenal at the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army.
The Huangyadong Arsenal is the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, the largest production base of weapons and ammunition established behind enemy lines in North China, and after receiving reports of the Japanese invasion of the Huangyadong Arsenal, General Peng immediately ordered the 386th Brigade to rush to Huangyadong to block this Japanese army.
The Okazaki detachment, seeing the help of the Eighth Route Army brigade, immediately fled the Huangyadong Arsenal, and on October 28, withdrew to the area of Guanjia'an in the town of Panlong.
