In the summer of 1934, Hao Zhiping was admitted to Kaifeng Minglun Middle School, this year she was only 12 years old, the first time she left home, inevitably the nostalgic family affection, she cried, but she was strong, wiped away tears, bid farewell to her parents, and resolutely went on the road.
Hao Zhiping began to live in his father's friend's house. But the girls in this family think that she is a "countryman" and look down on her. Hao Zhiping gambled and moved to the school's collective dormitory, and when his father's friends found out, he could not persuade her to return no matter what.
In the class, Hao Zhiping's grades are always among the best, he has won a scholarship, he has no worries about eating, and he has also been liked by some female companions. When they came to the street, they found an advertisement for admissions to the "Anti-Japanese National Revolutionary University". So he signed up and was admitted, but his friend's mother did not let her daughter go, and Hao Zhiping had to board the train to the west of the "Anti-Japanese National Revolutionary University" alone.
But when they arrived in Yuncheng, Shanxi, Hao Zhiping and his classmates who were also recruited found that this was a school run by Yan Xishan.
In order to preserve his territory in Shanxi, Yan Laoxi had to unite with the Communists to resist Japan. He urgently needed patriotic youth for his use, so he opened this school to cultivate anti-Japanese talents.

At this time, all of his companions said that Yan'an was a true anti-Japanese resistance, and Hao Zhiping wanted to defect to Yan'an. It just so happens that many companions also have this intention. So on a dark night in February 1938, under the contact and leadership of a shandong elder brother, Hao Zhiping and six or seven companions secretly left Yuncheng and embarked on a difficult journey to Yan'an.
A small group of eight people had been circling the Yellow River for a month, and they could not find a place to cross the river. The two female companions wavered and left the team halfway through.
The rest of them finally found a boat and a fellow punt. After crossing the Yellow River, Hao Zhiping and her 5 companions finally arrived at the Communist Party's place.

In Yan'an, Hao Zhiping advanced to northern Shaanxi Public School, and later entered the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University.
At first, because of her high level of education, the school planned to ask her to study medicine and communication, but she firmly refused. The reason is: It is only an indirect anti-Japanese resistance, and I want to study military affairs and directly resist Japan.
As a result, she was assigned to the military team, and after graduating, she entered the political work class to study. During this period, Hao Zhiping joined the Communist Party of China.
In 1939, the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University was ordered by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to advance behind enemy lines in North China. Luo Ruiqing, vice president of Kang Da, led more than 5,000 people from Kang Da General School and Northern Shaanxi Public School to cross the Yellow River in the east and cross the enemy-occupied area to the Taihang Mountains. Before the trip, the superiors had instructions, the two-thousand-mile journey, the road was too arduous and too dangerous, and the female comrades tried to go as little as possible, so Hao Zhiping was also left behind.
Hearing this news, Hao Zhiping was anxious, and Guo Linxiang, the captain of the second brigade who found her, said:
"I am not afraid of suffering, I am not afraid of war, I am not afraid of crossing the Yellow River, when I defected to Yan'an, I crossed the Yellow River twice from Zhengzhou to Yuncheng, from Yuncheng to northern Shaanxi. At that time, there was no party leadership, no organizational help, how difficult it was, all came over, and there were only six of us at that time. Now follow the big troops, I have nothing to fear! ”
Seeing that Hao Zhiping's attitude was so resolute, and the "mushroom" was not finished, the leader had to agree.
Later, Hao Zhiping and Luo Ruiqing fell in love, and this good story was processed into "the first time to chase Luo Ruiqing". Of course, Luo Ruiqing, as the leader of the Kang Da, among the thousands of students, did not know that there was a female student named Hao Zhiping. As for Hao Zhiping, it was impossible to associate himself with the vice president of Kang Da at that time.

Hao Zhiping graduated from the Kang Da and served as the "technical secretary" (secretary) of the Political Department of the Second Brigade, and the leader designated her to be responsible for keeping the official seal and documents. When crossing the Yellow River, she wrapped the documents and official seals into a package, tied them on the back of the cattle, thinking that she was foolproof, and after crossing the Yellow River, she found that the package was missing. For this, she was criticized and punished with a "verbal warning".
After crossing the Yellow River and arriving at the Jinsui Anti-Japanese Base Area, Hao Zhiping inadvertently observed Luo Ruiqing for the first time. Leave the Jinsui Border Region and advance towards the Jin-Cha-Ji base area. Once, passing through a tightly sealed area by the Japanese army, it was necessary to march 180 miles in one night, and the troops had to be as hidden as possible and not make any loud noises. Hao Zhiping desperately ran with the troops in the dense gunfire, ran over a hillside, the gunshots could not be heard, everyone was tired, hungry and thirsty, or fell or lay down, like a scattered rack, in fact, not completely out of danger. Luo Ruiqing and other leading cadres urged everyone to continue to move forward, he threw away the stick in his hand, and took the lead in striding forward. The spirit of the principal inspired everyone, and Hao Zhiping perked up and followed the team forward.
In October 1939, he arrived in Jinchaji. Here, Hao Zhiping served as the platoon leader of the girls' team, participated in the battle with the troops for the first time, won the battle, and held a celebration meeting. Hao Zhiping thought that this was the real anti-Japanese resistance and was extremely excited.

The Jin-Cha-Ji Border Region decided to leave behind a group of anti-university members, especially female trainees, who needed to be educated cadres to stay and work; second, some old cadres, especially those who had come through the Long March, had not yet married and started a family due to environmental limitations, and needed to solve the problem of spouses among the female trainees of kang da.
However, Hao Zhiping believed that this was not the forefront of the front line, and insisted on continuing to move forward with the general school, and did not agree to stay. She and Company Commander Cheng Ke went to look for Luo Ruiqing together, but unfortunately, Principal Luo was not there, and they left a note explaining their intentions. Perhaps fate played a role, Luo Ruiqing saw their note and agreed. As a result, among the students, there was a good story of "Hao Zhiping's second pursuit of Luo Ruiqing".
In early 1940, Hao Zhiping left Jin-Cha-Ji with the general school. The CPC Central Committee decided to convene the Seventh National Congress and informed all base areas and systems to elect delegates to the Seventh National Congress, and Hao Zhiping, as one of the grass-roots representatives elected by the girls' team, had the opportunity to often go to the main school for meetings. As a result, she had more contact with Luo Ruiqing.

At the small-scale meeting, the speech was relatively casual, and Luo Ruiqing's vivid and vivid language and approachable attitude left a deep impression on Hao Zhiping. Hao Zhiping loved to listen to Luo Ruiqing's funny and humorous speeches, and from time to time he asked questions for answers.
Hao Zhiping, who was beautiful, enthusiastic and simple and quiet, began to attract Luo Ruiqing's attention.
In February 1940, more than 5,000 students from kang da general school and shaanxi northern public school traveled 2,500 miles through 25 counties in Shaanxi, Shanxi and Hebei provinces to reach the Taihang Mountains and complete a "small long march".

Three months later, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China ordered Luo Ruiqing to be transferred from kang da and appointed as the director of the field political department of the Eighth Route Army. At this time, Hao Zhiping had been promoted to deputy instructor of the anti-university girls' team and secretary of the party branch. She and the cadets of the girls' team were reluctant to let Luo Ruiqing leave kang da, which seemed to have other emotional factors in addition to the revolutionary friendship between comrades and respect for their superiors.
What are the emotional factors? Hao Zhiping also said it was inaccurate, but she did like the 34-year-old vice principal. In order to express their affection for Vice Principal Luo, the female team members carefully embroidered a pair of pillows and sent representatives to give them to Luo Ruiqing.

At the end of 1940, Hao Zhiping entered the Party School of the Northern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. The school site is close to Luo Ruiqing's Eighth Route Army Field Political Department. 18-year-old Hao Zhiping, a beautiful face, a pair of clear and moving eyes, a well-proportioned slim figure, enthusiastic and generous but not losing the quiet, tall head, neat Eighth Route Army armor showed her figure just right, the young girl and the eighth route army female warriors unique heroic posture combined. For a time, Hao Zhiping attracted many courtships, some writing letters, some asking her out for a walk, and some writing a thick love poem. But she politely refused.

One day, she received a letter calling her "Ziping" signed "Luo Shuiqing" and telling her to guess carefully.
She finally guessed that "Ziping" and "Zhiping", the Sichuan accent is the same, "Luo Shuiqing" and "Luo Ruiqing", sichuanese also pronounce it this way. The letter writer is Luo Ruiqing, the former vice president of Luo, and now the director of the Field Political Department! He asked her to talk.

"Director Luo is single, and he wrote to me to talk about it, and that layer of meaning may be..."
She arrived on time. They talked very harmoniously, completely equally comradely, affectionately and warmly.

He was born in 1906 in Nanchong, Sichuan. The ancestors originally had some family business, but the indisputable father ate, drank, gambled and gambled, the family property was soon gone, the mother was tortured, seriously ill, less than 40 years old, and died.
When he was 17 years old, his grandfather and mother were the masters, married the granddaughter of a country doctor, surnamed Lin, illiterate, there was no contradiction between Luo Ruiqing and his wife, but there was no emotion, and he made up his life and gave birth to a child.
After his mother's death, Luo Ruiqing despaired of his family, and he resolutely ran away from home. In addition to the influence of revolutionary ideas, the tragic death of his mother also made him feel that there was no way out for his family.
He first went to Chengdu and was admitted to the Higher Sericulture School, because he had no money and could not enroll in the admission. It was at this time that the Huangpu Military Academy, which was cooperated by the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, came to Sichuan to enroll students, and he entered the Huangpu Military Academy. After the defeat of the Revolution, he joined the Communist Party of China.
When Luo Ruiqing left home, she told his wife not to wait for him again, he would not come back, and she could marry at any time. After listening to her cry. Luo Ruiqing felt very sorry for her, after all, they had lived together for several years, and she had not enjoyed a single day. In the end, Luo Ruiqing left, she suffered a lot, but also married someone.
Luo Ruiqing also faithfully introduced to Hao Zhiping the two unfortunate loves after arriving in Yan'an, because the two sides did not communicate in their hearts and knew too little about each other, and finally they both broke up with each other and only kept the pain in their hearts.

April 3, 1941, was a day that Luo Ruiqing and Hao Zhiping remembered for the rest of their lives. On this day, Hao Zhiping graduated from the party school, and it was also on this day that they held a wedding.
After the marriage, Hao Zhiping was transferred to Luo Ruiqing's side, serving as the secretary of the Field Political Department of the Eighth Route Army, and later as an instructor and secretary of the general branch.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Luo Ruiqing served as the chief of staff of the CPC delegation of the Executive Department of the Beiping Military Mediation Office. After the outbreak of the national civil war, Hao Zhiping moved to North China with her husband, and when Luo Ruiqing served as the political commissar of the 19th Corps, Hao Zhiping also served as the deputy principal of the primary school for the children of the corps.
They lived together for 8 years in the war-torn era, Hao Zhiping took on the heavy responsibilities of warriors, wives and mothers, and their innocent love was sublimated in the war.
May 1949, the eve of the birth of the Republic. Luo Ruiqing and Hao Zhiping were summoned to Beiping. Mao Zedong personally ordered Luo Ruiqing to set up the Ministry of Public Security, which was initially called the "Ministry of Public Security of the Central Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee", and later the Central People's Government was established, and then renamed the "Ministry of Public Security of the People's Republic of China".
Luo Ruiqing worked in this extremely important post for ten years. He served as Minister of Public Security and also held important positions such as commander and political commissar of the Public Security Army.
Hao Zhiping is still with her husband, and has successively served as the secretary of the General Office of the Ministry of Public Security, the chief of the Propaganda and Education Section of the Propaganda and Education Department, the director of the Propaganda department, the director of the Office of the Political Department, and the director of the Office of the Party Committee of the Ministry.
After the Lushan Conference in 1959, Lin Biao personally nominated Luo Ruiqing as chief of the general staff, and he returned to the military.
In 1961, Hao Zhiping also returned to the military circles and served as the chief of staff office. In 1955, when the People's Liberation Army conferred the title, Luo Ruiqing was made a general and Hao Zhiping was a colonel.
Because he was extremely trusted by Mao Zedong, Luo Ruiqing held six important positions at the same time:
Secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council, Vice Minister of National Defense, Director of the National Defense Industry Office, Secretary General of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army.
The 17 years before the start of those difficult years were the happiest, proudest and sweetest 17 years for Mr. and Mrs. Luo Ruiqing. They saw and personally felt with their own eyes how Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and other party and state leaders attached importance to and personally led the work of the Ministry of Public Security and the General Staff, and they were proud to have gained Mao Zedong's unusual trust.

"Mr. Lin, our relationship with the chairman cannot be broken."
Luo Ruiqing was loyal to Mao Zedong and was deeply proud to personally defend Mao Zedong's safety.

But because Luo Ruiqing needed to take on the job of defending Chairman Mao, he could not often accompany his wife and children, and once Luo Ruiqing said to Hao Zhiping:
"I'm always very uneasy in my heart, everyone can lead the children together, watch the fireworks together, but you..."
"Nothing, you are defending Chairman Mao, I think it is quite honorable, who made me the wife of the Minister of Public Security?" If you want to talk about dipping the light, I am the biggest light that stains you, and it is not enough for others to want to go to Chairman Mao's side to defend his old man's home! ”
This is indeed Hao Zhiping's heartfelt words. During that time, Luo Ruiqing won the reputation of "the shadow of the chairman".

Mao Zedong loved swimming, and after Luo Ruiqing became the minister of public security, he deliberately learned to swim to ensure Mao Zedong's safety.
During his time at the Ministry of Public Security, Hao Zhiping was also the president of an amateur university. The professional level and cultural quality of batch after batch of public security cadres and policemen have been enhanced and improved as a result. An illiterate old aunt, under the "persecution" of Hao Zhiping, learned two or three words a day, and finally she could write letters and read newspapers independently.
Due to the need to develop friendly relations with foreign countries, leaders' overseas visits require their wives to accompany them on many occasions, which has encountered trouble with many high-ranking cadres' wives, and Hao Zhiping is no exception. In the long and difficult war environment, they have developed the habit of hardship and simplicity, which is not a bad thing. However, if you wear the coarse cloth military uniform of the war years to meet foreign guests, and even wear patches on your knees, it will not damage the image of the country, and it is not polite to foreign guests, and it is necessary to dress luxuriously and when you enter, so the ladies are not willing to appear on such occasions. In particular, the word "lady" is also very disgusting to them, they are all independent women, unwilling to rely on their husbands, revolutionary for decades, and finally transformed into "lady", they feel very uncomfortable.

She wore it with Luo Ruiqing to the reception to welcome foreign guests, and Zhou Enwen met her and happily called her "Madame Butterfly". She also visited Myanmar and other countries with Zhou Enlai, Chen Yi, and Luo Ruiqing. She is a female police officer on the public security front and a "Lady Luo" on the diplomatic front.
The year 1964 was the year of the all-army contest. Luo Ruiqing, as chief of the general staff of the whole army and the organizer of the contest, accompanied the veteran commanders to inspect the military training of the troops in the company on many occasions, and also accompanied Mao Zedong, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping, and other core leaders to review the grand military report performance. Chairman Mao was particularly pleased with the performance results and constantly applauded the extraordinary skills of the PLA athletes.

Overcoming many difficulties, Luo Ruiqing and his wife finally came to Chairman Mao's memorial service. Standing next to the chairman's body, the general and his wife could not cry, and when they walked past the chairman, Luo Ruiqing insisted on standing up from the wheelchair and let his relatives help him walk by.
On September 18, millions of people in the capital held a memorial service for Mao Zedong in Tiananmen Square. Hao Zhiping has been accompanying her husband, and her husband insists on standing like all people, from the beginning to the end, during this half-hour memorial service, the general and his wife kept crying, crying like children.

In 1978, Hao Zhiping suffered from malignant breast cancer, which spread to the lungs. The renewed youth, the meticulous care of her wife and children, give her miraculous strength. She underwent lobectomy and slowly recovered.
In July 1978, Luo Ruiqing decided to go to the Federal Republic of Germany for surgery, how eager he was to throw away his wheelchair and walk and work on his legs like a healthy person! He lost too much time.

Expecting this long-awaited result, Hao Zhiping suddenly sobbed, and then covered his face and lost his voice! How happy she was, how excited she was, how she wanted to laugh! But the tears flowed down in disobedience.
"RuiQing, you are really not easy, it is really not easy!"
When the operation was over, Hao Zhiping wanted to see her husband, but the doctor stopped him, saying that he was afraid of infection after the operation. Hao Zhiping had to wait any longer, and she had no reason not to wait, because everything was fine.
