In order to give full play to the function of the public cultural service platform of the art museum and inherit the spirit of Mr. He Xiangning's emphasis on women's education, the second He Xiangning Art Museum Women's Art Public Welfare Senior Seminar (Calligraphy and Landscape Painting) was officially opened on October 23, 2021. Cai Xianliang, Director of He Xiangning Art Museum, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, encouraging the students to inherit Mr. He Xiangning's spirit and feelings of fighting for the Chinese revolution, women's rights and social status, passing on positive energy to the society, and contributing to the improvement of women's artistic and cultural standards.
On the first day of school, Director Cai Xianliang gave two themed lectures for the students, "Iron Bone Ice Heart Justice Holding - He Xiangning Painting and the Chinese Revolution", and "The Eight Monsters of Yangzhou" Painting and the Innovative Development of Calligraphy in the Qing Dynasty", telling the painting of He Xiangning, which was intertwined with the Chinese revolution, and using the "Eight Monsters of Yangzhou" as the starting point to sort out the history of Chinese calligraphy, and introducing the ways and methods of learning calligraphy to the students.
The trainees also visited the special exhibition "He Xiangning and the Chinese Women's Calligraphy and Painting Society: A Picture of the Chinese Women's Art Movement in the First Half of the 20th Century" that opened on the same day to learn about the outstanding achievements of Chinese female artists in the Republic of China period.
On October 24th, Zhao Hui, Vice Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Shenzhen University, brought a calligraphy practice course to the students, analyzing and answering the problems existing in each student's submitted works and the difficulties encountered in learning calligraphy, and interspersed with the theoretical knowledge of calligraphy in the course of the teaching, and discussing the relationship between calligraphy and landscape painting with the students.
With the development of the two-day study, the students expressed their harvest and insight, thanks to the meticulous planning and a lot of preliminary preparation of He Xiangning Art Museum, which provided such a valuable opportunity and platform for art lovers.
