The Red Cross Society of China held a press conference to introduce the awards of the 48th Nightingale Award. This year's Nightingale Prize has a total of 3 nurses in China, which is the country with the largest number of winners in the world.
The Nightingale Prize is an international honor awarded to outstanding nursing workers from around the world in recognition of their peacetime or wartime excellence and dedication. The Nightingale Medal is issued every two years under the auspices of the ICRC in Geneva.
Lawrence Nightingale was a Mokee native of modern nursing and nursing education. From 1854 to 1856, Nightingale served as a field ambulance worker in the Crimean War, reducing the mortality rate of the wounded and sick from 50% to 2.2%, making an important contribution to improving the treatment and life of the wounded and sick. Every night, when she carried an oil lamp around the ward, the wounded and sick showed their reverence for her by kissing her figure and affectionately called her "lantern goddess".
In 1907, the 8th International Congress of the Red Cross in London recommended that you be awarded the Nightingale Medal as the highest international acclaim for encouraging nurses from all over the world. In 1912, the year after Nightingale's death, the 9th International Congress of the Red Cross in Washington was officially awarded the Nightingale Medal.
Award Rules: The Nightingale Medal is awarded every two years, no more than 50 medals at a time, and is awarded to outstanding nursing workers from all over the world (including those who have died in the line of duty) in recognition of their outstanding achievements and dedication in peacetime or wartime.
