Huang Ling's "World of Strings" Chu Jiaming tells the mystery of "hidden mysteries"

Erhu originated from the Tang Dynasty more than a thousand years ago, and with its unique timbre and personality of unique national instruments, it has been passed down to the present day with the rhythmic symbols of the times. The second volume of "String Moving the World - Dialogue with the World with huqin" edited by Huang Ling, "Magnificent Bach Erhu", interprets Baroque polyphonic music with Erhu in a way that combines Chinese and Western styles.

As the string lead instrument in the national music system and a unique aesthetic style, the erhu combines it with Western music in this textbook, and provides supplementary information for erhu lovers from the Bach melody. Naturally understand the finger spacing of the interval; multi-voice thinking; and build mutual listening, harmony, self-control and other abilities. It has expanded the field of new audiovisual and aesthetics, and further promoted traditional folk music.

"The World of Strings" is a textbook that I believe will be recognized by everyone and will add luster to the art of erhu. Professor Liu Changfu of the Central Conservatory of Music said so. In the process of erhu teaching, it also provides students with a good optimization training of musical literacy.

Chu Jiaming of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music participated in the Fan Performance of the Huqin Duo in the next volume of Professor Huang Ling's textbook, through a short work, he saw the big with the small, gained a lot, and felt a lot. When she actually played, she found the mystery of the "hidden mystery":

Judging from the repertoire: the repertoire in this book is from the works of Bach in the Baroque period. Works of this period often have strong harmonic properties, and polyphonic textures are particularly common, emphasizing the change of step-by-step sound strength. Obviously, these characteristics should be expressed when playing.

From the performance point of view: using the huqin to interpret Baroque polyphonic music, there is a certain degree of difficulty. The key is to "control" the strength of the two hands, and the bow of the right hand is "lifted" and "released" with caution, that is, to practice internal skills. In particular, this volume of works and the traditional erhu works rarely appear in the various interval relationships and different modes, when playing to control the pitch, reasonable arrangement of fingering, play a musical style close to baroque, which is a good exercise for the player.

As a ensemble work, it is necessary to pay great attention to the balance of the double huqin when playing. The balance here includes the balance of timbre and sound intensity, so it is important to form a longitudinal sense of hearing and learn to listen during cooperative playing. By listening to each other's melodies, using vertical hearing, and striving to accurately align with the collaborators, you can increase the sense of flow of the music and play the grandeur of the Baroque period.

When playing melodies with harmonic properties, emphasizing the functional parts can also make the style of the work more distinct. The control of the force is important when playing the effect of the texture entering the exit. Of course, in the step-by-step sound intensity change, the change node that is consistent with the collaborator can achieve a balanced and consistent effect.

It is worth mentioning that based on the understanding of the foundation of Bach's works, it is natural to integrate the piano sound concept of Bach's works, especially when dealing with the distinction between continuous sentences and broken performances, it is necessary to clearly distinguish and imitate the effect of piano breaks.

Chu Jiaming experienced affectionately: "Through the set of teaching materials of "The World of String Movement", I not only understood the melodic characteristics of the Bach Baroque style and learned the control of the mating strength of the two hands, but also provided a good training machine for the pitch of the finger distance of the left hand."
