The four-act drama "Room" is divided into four age stages of two generations of women, and the actors Li Chentao and Liu Weichen interpret the story of an ordinary mother and daughter growing up together by creating the roles of two independent women with their own desires and desires. The play intercepts fragments of their lives in the past 20 years, vividly portraying the bondage, influence and mutual support between women.
Screenwriter and director Chen Tiantian created this script three years ago, when she focused more on private emotions, and the whole social environment has changed subtly in the past three years, and she has also shifted the creative center to the exploration of the psychology of the entire social group. In recent years, women's attitudes towards some anxious problems have changed from anger and retaliation to open-mindedness and laughter, and women of the times are also growing with the times. In 2018, "Room" appeared on the stage of the 1933 micro-theater in the form of an incubation work, which resonated with female audiences.
In a post-performance conversation, an audience member asked Chen Tiantian, "Will the mother-daughter relationship change with the times?" Or is their entanglement genetic and never changes? ”
