Ballet queen Alexa Chung is promoting her new Netflix show Next in Fashion, and she has improved her shoes for the occasion. In the aol build series of talks — which seems to be the right of anyone promoting a project in New York — she wears 70s-style co-operative-toned shoes and vivetta heels that look so good that you can stop.
The Italian label's AW19 style mary janes borrowed a pearl band from stylist Rachel Bakewell and fastened it in place with a crystal bow clasp. Her design team at de Beauvoir designed a black-and-white sequin dress for her, reflecting "the same flattering silhouette, but the collar and cuffs are very vintage and classic".
Chung told the media at the time that she felt the outdated but classic design was a good fit for a night like this, "the room was full of people wearing 'moments'". "The fashion industry's expression of my ideas through clothing has made me want to retreat into my comfort zone, which I think is a tribute to music and a bygone era," she says.
