In order to commemorate the 140th anniversary of Mr. Lu Xun's birth and the 16th anniversary of Ba Jin's death, and to show the friendship and spiritual inheritance between Lu Xun and Ba Jin, on October 18, the "Salary Transmission" - Lu Xun and Ba Jin Photo Exhibition, planned by Ba Jin's Former Residence and sponsored by Ba Jin's Former Residence and Xuhui District Culture and Tourism Bureau, opened at the Xuhui District Tourism Public Service Center.
The exhibition is divided into three chapters, namely, the first, middle and second chapters, which trace the story of Ba Jin's interaction with Lu Xun, display Ba Jin's treasured books and objects related to Lu Xun, and present Ba Jin's practical actions to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Lu Xun.
"Mr. Ba Jin is also an important bridge for us to understand Mr. Lu Xun." Wang Wei, secretary of the party group of the Shanghai Writers Association, said that holding such an exhibition can let us experience the spiritual style of the two giants of Chinese literature and the giants of China's modern and contemporary ideological and cultural fields, and feel that their warm friendship is still warming us, and their spiritual luster is still shining on us. "I think the two words 'salary transmission' well cover the thinking that we need to unfold in the face of Lu Xun and Ba Jin today: Under the new historical conditions, how do we inherit the spirit of the two of them?"

The exhibition is divided into three chapters, named "That person is more serious than others", "We have never forgotten him", and "Follow Lu Xun's path". The three chapters respectively trace the story of Ba Jin's interaction with Lu Xun, show Ba Jin's treasured books and objects related to Lu Xun, and present Ba Jin's practical actions to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Lu Xun. Because Lu Xun is known as the father of China's emerging printmaking, this exhibition specially selects the woodcut prints of many famous printmakers, such as the illustration of Lu Xun's novel "A Q Zheng biography" by printmaker Liu Dan, the portrait of the author of "Wild Grass" - Lu Xun, the woodcut work "Lu Xun's Lace Literature" by woodcarver Cao Bai, the woodcut work "Lu Xun Statue" by calligraphy and painting artist Chen Guangzong, the woodcut Lu Xun statue made by painter Gu Yuan, and the woodcut "Chocobo Bird" by printmaker Zhao Yannian. It is reported that the exhibition will last until October 27.

"Lu Xun and Ba Jin, for many people, are names in books, but because I am fortunate enough to live in Shanghai, they are also vivid in my young memory." I grew up visiting Lu Xun's former residence and Lu Xun Park, and later I slowly read Mr. Ba Jin's works, and I also knew the origin of Ba Jin's former residence, Mr. Ba Jin and the Shanghai Writers Association, and now I still have a wonderful and incredible feeling. Pan Xiangli, a writer and vice chairman of the Shanghai Writers Association, sighed, "This is also the spiritual gift that the city of Shanghai gives to each of our human resources workers, and it is a very important spiritual source for us." ”
In her view, Lu Xun and Ba Jin have three similarities: never vulgar, never flashy, and never false. "These three points sound easy, but they are not. Considering the background of the times that the two masters experienced, it was really all kinds of ups and downs and twists and turns. I think these three points are very important enlightenment for our generation of writers, and they are also our eternal benchmark, the first lesson of our introduction to writing, and our lifelong practice. ”

The Japanese scholar Masuda once asked Lu Xun why he worked with young writers with very different tendencies, and the young writers here refer to Ba Jin. At that time, Lu Xun said in a tone of trust: "That person is more serious than others." ”
In the first part, in the name of "that person is more serious than others", through the exhibits such as Ba Jin's works of Lu Xun, Lu Xun's handwriting, and Ba Jin's articles, the exhibition leads readers to look back at the bits and pieces of Ba Jin's interaction with Lu Xun. From the time he read "Diary of a Madman" in Chengdu as a teenager, Ba Jin was a loyal reader of Lu Xun. He wrote in an article: "In August 1926, I came to Beijing For the first time to study for the university and lived in a Tongxing apartment along the Beihe River. ...... In Beijing, I only have two or three friends who occasionally come to talk, and what accompanies me for half a month is a copy of "Scream". I've read it for a long time, and I've read "Diary of a Madman" and several other novels published in New Youth magazine in Chengdu. I didn't read them all at once. I slowly learned to love them. This time I had a better chance to read them. In this bitter and lonely apartment life, it was his novel that comforted the heart of my disappointed child. For the first time, I felt and believed in the power of art. In the years that followed, I never left Scream, and I took it through many places..."
After participating in literary work, Ba Jin and Lu Xun had direct contact, compiling books, organizing manuscripts, talking at the same table, and then supporting and trusting each other. When Ba Jin was questioned by others, Lu Xun firmly sided with Ba Jin, for example, in the article "Answering Xu Maoyong and on the Question of the Anti-Japanese United Front", he praised Ba Jin as "a writer with enthusiasm and progressive ideas, a writer among the few good writers." The exhibition also exhibits Lu Xun's handwritten, published and cut-and-paste manuscripts of "Answering Xu Maoyong and Questions About the Anti-Japanese United Front."
Ba Jin also has a very high evaluation of Lu Xun and has always been Lu Xun's defender. In Ba Jin's view, Lu Xun is a warrior with a strong sense of justice, he is one of the great warriors who follow the times and push the times, "People who do not care much about everything other than themselves can put on a smiling face and talk about tolerance and courtesy." A person who loves justice and hates evil cannot be tolerated. Because his love and hatred are real, not goods that can be sold cheaply at any time. In addition to ruthlessly exposing the dark side of our society and striking at it the most violently, Mr. Lu Xun also showed us the way to the light. It's love's job. In his articles there is always a fiery heart beating. ”

The novella, titled "We Have Never Forgotten Him", mainly displays Ba Jin's treasured books and objects related to Lu Xun, including some of Lu Xun's works, translations, Lu Xun's complete works, Lu Xun's complete manuscripts, books compiled and printed by Lu Xun, and even envelopes for Lu Xun's commemorative activities and stamps of Lu Xun's head. Ba Jin preserved everything he came into contact with Lu Xun, including a piece of paper. When Lu Xun died, Ba Jin said: "When he was alive, I couldn't find a chance to show my gratitude to him. Now I can only bury my gratitude in my heart, forever in my heart. ”

It is reported that Ba Jin was hospitalized for a long time in his later years, and in the book he brought to the hospital, there was a pocket book of "Lu Xun's Poetry Manuscript", and his family said that he often read and recited it in his hospital bed to exercise his memory. Barkin's collection of tens of thousands of books, he singled out this one.

The next part, "Following Lu Xun's Path", tells about Ba Jin's practical actions to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Lu Xun. "In Memory of Mr. Lu Xun", "Mr. Lu Xun Ten Years Festival", "Remembering Mr. Lu Xun", "Autumn Night", "Mr. Lu Xun I Know"... In commemoration of Lu Xun's articles, Ba Jin wrote one after another, "For me his life is a source of inspiration, just as his book is a guide for me." Whenever he stood in front of the statue of Lu Xun, or visited the place where Mr. Lu had lived and worked, Ba Jin could recall the bits and pieces of his time with Mr. Lu, and always reflect and lash out at himself.
In his later years, Ba Jin even raised the banner of "telling the truth" and directly inherited and carried forward Lu Xun's spirit of truly seeing life. Scholar Qian Liqun believes that Ba Jin has always adhered to the spirit of modern Chinese intellectuals pioneered by Lu Xun throughout his life, and "Ba Jin has naturally become one of the spiritual descendants of Lu Xun, and he is the representative of the most important Chinese intellectuals after Lu Xun." ”
After the opening ceremony, Chen Zishan, librarian of the Shanghai Museum of Culture and History, professor of the Department of Chinese of East China Normal University, and vice president of the Ba Jin Research Association, gave a lecture entitled "The Interaction between Lu Xun and Ba Jin - Taking 'Night Notes' as an Example"," recalling the birth and end of a volume of prose collection "Night Notes" proposed by Ba Jin, edited by Lu Xun, and edited by Xu Guangping, and published by the Cultural Life Publishing House presided over by Ba Jin. The replica of "Night Notes" produced by Ba Jin's former residence will be released at the exhibition site, in addition to the "Literary Series" edited by Mr. Ba Jin, which has not been reproduced for 70 years, and this replica is launched to commemorate the literary friendship of the two predecessors, and also hopes to concretely present and inherit the new literary spirit in this form.
