Meng Jiang's child, Hei Xiaozi, resented the construction of the Great Wall because of the departure of his parents, and later slowly learned that the repair of the Great Wall was related to the peace of the people, and he and the old stonemasons, the great generals and the soldiers and civilians built this ten thousand miles of pass with flesh and blood.

Ouyang Yibing, the screenwriter of the play, said, "From the creation of "There is a Black Boy on the Great Wall" 27 years ago to the rearrangement of "The Legend of the Great Wall" today, as a screenwriter, I want our teenagers to think in many ways in the face of the majestic Great Wall, so that children can feel the great spirit of the Chinese nation in building the Great Wall, so that they can be encouraged to devote themselves to the construction of the 'New Great Wall' in the new era in the future. ”

Director Wang Xiaoying said, "What impressed me was that this is a very interesting story. This story is full of magic and folklore meaning, from the perspective of a child, with the child's emotions to see the Great Wall, the script provides a lot of imagination space for the creators and the audience. ”
