When Sima Lun, the King of Zhao, was killed, he covered his face with a hand towel and shouted in unison: "Sun Xiu, Sun Xiu, I was killed by you!" ”
Lun Kuo, covering his face with a scarf, said, "Sun Xiu mistook me, Sun Xiu mistook me", so he collected The Prison, Fu, The Pious, and the Fu Ting Wei Prison, and examined it. - Book of Jin, vol. 59, Liechuan XXIX
Who is Sun Xiu? According to the history books: Sun Xiu was a believer in the Wudou Rice Dao, followed Sima Lun, the King of Zhao, and was good at flattery and quite favored.
Sun Xiu actively plotted for Sima Lun, deposing the crown prince with divisive measures, killing Empress Jia, and ascending to the throne. Playing with power, greed and filth, eyes will be rewarded.
In fact, this claim is extremely low credibility, why?

Sun Xiu was born into poverty, but in a society like the Western Jin Dynasty that emphasized birth and descent, Sun Xiu was able to use Sima Lun's prestige to give orders to the nobles from above. Such a person is inherently outlier, and it is naturally easy to cause disgust in mainstream society.
It is also for this reason that it is natural for Sun Xiu's image to be scandalized. Coupled with his encouragement of Sima Lun to make a surprising move to depose Emperor Hui of Jin, it makes people feel even more that this is a natural clown.
In my opinion, what Sun Xiu did was what a strategist should do, that is, to be loyal to his lord. Although Sun Xiu was full of greed and adventure in his planning, looking at Yang Jun and Jia Hou before Sima Lun, and then looking at Sima Yue and other generations after Sima Lun, what they did did not seem to be much smarter than Sun Xiu.
Sun Xiu is a crappy and failed strategist, but he is not an ugly villain.
There is a story in history that smears Sun Xiu: Sun Xiu liked Shi Chong's concubine Lu Zhu (a rich merchant of the Western Jin Dynasty), and after helping Sima Lun control the central government, Sun Xiu also ascended to a high position, so he wanted to occupy Lu Zhu. However, Shi Chong, however, was reluctant to give the green pearl to Sun Xiu, so Sun Xiu besieged Shi Chong with an army. Lu Zhu saw this scene and did not want Sun Xiu to succeed, so he jumped off the building and died. Sun Xiu was furious and beheaded Shi Chong.
There are prostitutes known as green beads, beautiful and colorful, good at playing the flute. Sun Xiu made people ask for it. Chongshi is in the Jingu Annex, Fangdeng Lanai, Linqingliu, and the woman's side. The Messenger sued. Chong's dozens of his concubines to show that they all contained Lan Musk, and were luo, "in the chosen" messenger "Junhou Serve Yu Li Ze LiYi, but Ben was ordered to refer to the green pearl, did not know who was "Chongbo Ran yue" green pearl I loved, could not get also "messenger Yue" Junhou Bo ancient and modern, chayuan zhao, willing to think twice "Chongyue" otherwise" the messenger came out and reversed, Chong, did not allow. Show anger is to persuade Lun to worship and build. Chong, Jian, also knew his plan, and together with Huangmen Lang Pan Yueyin, he persuaded Wang Yun of Huainan and Wang Yan of Qi to take Tulun and Xiu. Xiu Juezhi (秀覺之), so he corrected the edict to accept Chong, Pan Yue, Ouyang Jian, and so on. Chongzheng feasted upstairs, and the meson came to the door. The revered green pearl said, "I am now offended by Er" Green Pearl wept that "died in front of the official" because he threw himself downstairs. - Book of Jin, vol. 33, Liechuan 3rd
Does this story have credibility? Sorry, there is no credibility at all.
What would an official do if he wanted to ask for a bribe? He would never ask for bribes directly in public, because public opinion is not easy to control, and second, it is also a loss of official dignity.
When officials want to ask for bribes, they usually dress themselves up as morally upright. Only in this way will it be easier for him to use legitimate reasons to attack the parties. In this context, if the parties want to get rid of the official's blows, the most effective way is to pay bribes.
Sun Xiu is also a political figure who climbs up from the bottom step by step, will he not even understand such a simple common sense?
If Sun Xiu really wants to occupy the green pearl, he can find an opportunity to hint at Shi Chong: Hand over the green pearl, I will not embarrass you. Shi Chong was only a dismissed businessman, and Sun Xiu was Zhongshu Ling (similar to the premier of the State Council) and a favorite of the consul Sima Lun, how could Shi Chong dare to offend Sun Xiu?
Sun Xiu struck at Shi Chong endlessly, and if Shi Chong couldn't stand Sun Xiu's blows, he would definitely try to please Sun Xiu by all means. In a word: Lord Sun, I will give you whatever you want, spare my dog's life!
And even if Shi Chong personally sent the green pearl to Sun Xiu's mansion, Sun Xiu would scold Shi Chong: "The reason why I cleaned you up is because your surname Shi is not a good thing, and you still dare to bribe me?" ”
Next, it is necessary for Lu Zhu to appear and perform, and Lu Zhu sincerely said to Sun Xiu: He has admired the talent and personality of Sun Chong since he was a child, and he heard that Shi Chong's offense against Sun Da, and he was willing to go to Sun Da's mansion to be an obscure maid, and he only hoped that Sun Tai would be discouraged and not be angry with such a small person as Shi Chong. And for me Lu Zhu, as long as I can see the talented Sun Da every day, I will have nothing to ask for in life.
In this way, this bribery scandal can naturally become a beautiful romantic love story.
I dare say responsibly: pull out an official at will and he will play this little trick. As a political figure who climbed up from the bottom step by step, would Sun Xiu not even understand such a simple trick?
Taking a step back, even if Shi Chong didn't know each other, he had to face Sun Xiu hard. Sun Xiu also had enough reasons to kill Shi Chong, because Shi Chong, himself, was a notorious person.
Shi Chongdou was cruel and arrogant when he was rich, and Shi Chongba was disgusted and exaggerated when he married Jia Mi. If Sun Xiu really wanted to use the means to rectify Shi Chong, it would definitely be ten to nine, because Shi Chong's black materials were too much. Even, as long as Shi Chong's hat of "Jia Hou's remnants" was fastened, it was enough for him to be beheaded all over the door.
After killing Shi Chong, with Sun Xiu's power at that time, where else could Lu Zhu run?
Looking at the identity of Lu Zhu, Lu Zhu was just a prostitute, or a pet concubine of Shi Chong, in that era, there was not much difference between a pet concubine and a plaything. With Shi Chong's thick black personality, will he be a hard-hitting big man Sun Xiu for a plaything? No kidding!
If Shi Chongzhen is willing to be tough with Sun Xiu for a plaything, don't say that Sun Xiu thinks he deserves to die, even Shi Chong's wife and children will also feel that Shi Chong's deserves to die. Because Shi Chong's practice is typical of not distinguishing between the heavy and the heavy.
This story turns Sun Xiu into a brainless bad guy, and it's downright bad. The reason for this is because the history books have become accustomed to scandalizing Sun Xiu.
In order to better set off the atmosphere, the love story between Shi Chong and Lu Zhu is written in the story as poignant and unusual: Shi Chong, for the sake of Lu Zhu, does not hesitate to joke about the future and the lives of the whole family; Lu Zhu resolutely gave up his life for Shi Chong.
In fact, there are two versions of the story of Lu Zhu, and both are recorded in the Book of Jin.
In the second version, Shi Chong's names are not mentioned until his death, and Shi Chong believes that he was killed because those in power coveted his own property. Even those who escorted him at that time laughed at him: Since you know that property will bring disaster to you, why don't you scatter it? Shi Chong answered wordlessly.
And the vehicle-mounted East City, Chongnai sighed that the "slaves benefit my family wealth" The reaper replied that "knowing the wealth causes harm, why not disperse it early" Chongn could not answer. - Book of Jin, vol. 33, Liechuan 3rd
Judging from this story, Shi Chong's death is not directly related to Sun Xiu or Lu Zhu.
But the death of Shi Chong, which is well known to everyone, is often the version of the green pearl jumping off the building. This is in line with the needs of the masses of the people who like to watch the plot of dog blood, and also in line with the political needs of the ruling class to try to vilify Sun Xiu.
In fact, Shi Chong's killing was a perfectly normal thing. If you don't have the power to match your wealth, you have wealth like a child holding a golden treasure in a downtown. What's so strange about being robbed in this environment?
And Shi Chong, who is not only rich, he has also once befriended the Jia family. In this way, if others want to weave a crime for Shi Chongluo, they are only talking about it. It can even be said that this crime is not fabricated, but what kind of Shi Chongzhen has done.
Pray to Lieutenant Wei and gossip with Pan Yue. He was friendly with him and was called "Twenty-Four Friends". Every time Guangcheng Jun came out, chongchuted to the left of the car road, looking at the dust and worshipping, its humble yu was so. - Book of Jin, vol. 33, Liechuan 3rd
What does the real Sun Xiu look like? I have no way to answer this question. At that time, there must have been positive records of Sun Xiu, but because Sun Xiu and Sima Lun failed, these records were drowned.
But one thing I'm sure of is that in that society that emphasizes birth and ancestry, Sun Xiu, who came from a poor background, can climb to the top of Zhongshu Ling, which is not an easy task.
Sun Xiu must have suffered a lot of unknown pain and suffering in the process of success, otherwise he would never have become a Zhongshu Ling, which was an official position belonging to the Shi clan.
As for the sewage spilled by Sima Lun before his death, I have already written an article commenting on Sima Lun. For such a short-sighted person, listen to what he says, don't take it seriously.
