With the popularity of electronic products, the number of myopia patients in China has been growing in recent years, and the number of adolescent myopia groups has risen especially. This has a lot to do with children's unhealthy eye habits and the lack of knowledge of eye health by parents and teachers. How to protect eye health? This eye care expertise needs to be mastered!
Special attention should be paid to early myopia protection
Many parents, especially young parents, often give their children electronic products such as mobile phones to play in order not to let their children cry. This behavior is actually consuming the child's "farsighted reserves".
Farsighted reserves are like the interest of the eyes in the bank, and the eyes are remote in the first few years of a child's birth. If farsightedness is consumed in advance, it enters the fast lane of myopia development, so early prevention and control of myopia is particularly important. Parents should not use their children's farsighted reserves for temporary convenience and unconsciously consume their children's farsighted reserves.
"Near dark and sweet" and 3 "20" rules
In addition to protecting children's farsighted reserves, in daily learning and life, parents should also pay attention to cultivating children's good eye habits. In the prevention of myopia, we must remember four words - near dark and sweet.
"Close" means that the distance to see things is too close, for example, children always like to lie down or look at mobile phones on their stomachs.
"Dark" means that the surrounding environment is too dark, and the environment that is too dark is easy to make the eyes tired, thereby increasing myopia.
"Long" refers to the use of the eyes for too long, when the child uses the electronic device for more than 20 minutes, parents should remind the child to rest the eyes.
"Sweet" refers to eating too much sweets, and eating too much sweets will affect the metabolism of vitamin D and vitamin B1, thereby aggravating myopia.
These four words are the culprits that cause myopia in children. Under normal circumstances, if these four behaviors are avoided in life, myopia prevention will achieve good results.
In addition, the 3 "20" rules are also very helpful in preventing myopia, that is, when using electronic products, relax your eyes every 20 minutes to a distance of 20 feet (6 meters) outside the window for 20 seconds, and children are not prone to myopia if they develop this habit.
If you find that your child has signs of myopia, you should seek medical attention in time
Once the child shows signs of myopia, such as squinting at things, lying on his stomach to see things, sitting in front of the TV to watch TV at close range, etc., parents should take their children to seek medical treatment in time.
Children's vision is not good, not necessarily all myopia, or may be amblyopia, or strabismus. Therefore, when there are signs of myopia, take the child to a regular medical institution for examination and prescribe the right medicine.
In recent years, myopia has become a high-incidence eye disease in adolescents. To prevent myopia, doctors, education departments and parents should cooperate with each other and be trinity. Especially in families and schools, parents and teachers should join hands to supervise and help children develop good eye habits and bring a healthier and brighter future to children.
