In order to truly understand the experience of men who have been sexually harassed by women, I conducted case interviews with two men who have been harassed by women in the workplace. One of them was harassed by an older colleague and the other was sexually harassed by a superior.
Case 1: 30 years old, doctor
Seven years ago, the person concerned graduated from college and joined the work, and at the beginning of his work, he was verbally harassed by an elderly woman in the same department. Use bento in medical books to describe male sexual organs in detail, guess his privacy, and so on. When interviewed a few years later, the person recalled his feelings at that time, and the words used repeatedly were: "it was sad at the time", "very uncomfortable", "very unhappy", "I felt very disgusting", "I feel sick when I think about it now, it is like eating a fly"...
Asked "what is the difference between being sexually harassed by a woman," the person said, "It's hard to be understood, so it's even more uncomfortable." When asked what a man's sexual harassment mainly hurts men, the person answered: "self-esteem."
The anti-sexual harassment legislation excluded men, and the person was thrilled, saying: "Inequality! sexism! ”
