Synopsis
The play was written by the late critic, Mr. Cheng Zhaocai, based on a factual event in Luan County in 1918. After being enriched and processed by many predecessors in the performance, it has been widely popular on the stage for decades and has become one of the traditional plays with excellent critics. Gao Zhanying, the sixth son of The Upstart Gao Guizhang in Luan County, Hebei Province, once married Yang Erjie, the daughter of a farmer. Gao Zhanying committed adultery with his sister-in-law Pei and the fifth sister-in-law Jin Yu, and Second Sister Yang bitterly advised her, but Gao Zhanying did not listen, but instead conspired with Pei, Jin Yu, and their uncle Gao Gui to kill Second Sister Yang. Yang Sanjie came to gao's house with her mother to mourn, and found that the situation was suspicious, so she resolutely wanted to avenge Yang Erjie. Yang Sanjie's luan county sued, suffered all kinds of difficulties from corrupt officials, and broke the case of compensation for the Gao family. Finally, he went to the Tianjin Higher Procuratorate, and it happened that the warlord-turned-director Yang had just arrived, and he immediately approved the lawsuit, and Yang Sanjie repaid the blood sea revenge.

Commentary on "Liu Qiao'er"
Synopsis:
In 1942, the people of longdong region of Shaanxi, Gansu, and Ningxia, under the initiative of the government, practiced marriage autonomy. Liu Qiao'er, the daughter of the farmer Liu Yangui, was arranged by her parents and promised to give zhu'er to Zhao Jiazhuang since childhood, but she never met. At a labor model meeting, she fell in love with Zhao Zhenhua, a hard-working and handsome young man. The landlord Wang Shouchang coveted Qiao'er's beauty, and gave Liu Zhongbao a generous amount of gold and asked her to match her. Liu Yangui, greedy for money, promised to marry his daughter to Wang Shouchang, and deceived her daughter that Zhao Zhu'er was a second-rate son, and proposed to dissolve her daughter's marriage contract with him. One day, Liu Qiao'er went to the cooperative to deliver the line, was pestered by Wang Shouchang, and told her that she was going to meet her soon, Liu Qiao'er knew that his father had received the bride price, and was very angry. Later, after aunt Li pointed out, Qiao Er learned that Zhao Zhenhua was Zhao Zhu'er. The two resolved the misunderstanding and made a lifelong decision. When Liu Yangui saw that his daughter had vowed not to marry Wang Shouchang, he locked Qiao'er at home.
