The anecdotes and masterpieces of Wei Ye, who laughed at the singer, but was called a true immortal hermit by Lu You

Wei Ye (魏野), courtesy name Zhongxian, was a resident of Caotang and a poet of the Northern Song Dynasty. His poems imitate Yao He and Jia Dao, and he painstakingly seeks work, but the style of poetry is light and simple, and there is no shortage of hardship and bitterness. He was poor all his life, but he did not follow the tide and was praised by future generations.

Wang Fuzhi's "Treatise on Song" points out:

Song Zhi recruited four hermits: Chen Xuan, ZhongFang, Wei Ye, and Lin Kui. Fu Cain, not a rambler. When examining it, if you look at it, you can see that you are content with it, and your ambitions and deeds can also be known. With its deeds, its aspirations, its aspirations, and its qualities, then its victory or inferiority can be known.

Chen Zhuo, ZhongFang, Wei Ye, and Lin Kui were the four great hermits of the Song Dynasty, and according to the times and behaviors, they could understand their ambitions, and according to whether their behaviors were in line with their ambitions, they could judge their conduct, so that they could distinguish which were true hermits and which were the people who had to be hidden.

Among them, Wei Ye and Lin Kui are true hermits, and the poetry works are also more talented. The Southern Song Dynasty poet Lu You once wrote a poem "Reading the Poems of Lin Kui Wei Ye's Second Virgin":

Junfu Zhongxian was really hidden, and the pen end was also self-mediated. In the end, let alone the fame and fortune of the city!

"Hidden fall" is the meaning of the immortal, this is Qua Lin Kui, Wei Ye is a true immortal, the poem is also the next thousand jun.

As a hermit and a poet, Wei Ye's anecdotes are naturally mostly related to poetry. Song Wu's "Miscellaneous Records of the Green Box" records such an event:

Legend has it that Wei Ye tasted from Lai Gong to the monks' house in Shaanxi Province, each with a title. After returning to the same tour, I saw that the poems of Lai Gong had been protected by a green sarong, while the wild poems were alone, and the dust was full of walls. From time to time, there are quite wise prostitutes from the line of officials, that is, they whisk it away with the song. Ye Xu yue: "If you have to brush the red sleeves often, you should also be better than a blue sarong." Lai Gong laughed.

Wei Ye and Kou Zhun had a good relationship, and Kou Zhun was two times a phase, which was naturally different from Wei Ye's identity as an idle hermit. When the two were traveling together in the monks' house in Shaanxi Province, they each mentioned poems on the wall. Later, the two revisited the old place, and as a result, Kou Zhun's poem was protected by a bisaki cage, while Wei Ye's was "dusty and dark".

Probably afraid of Wei Ye's embarrassment, there was a clever entourage of officials and prostitutes who hurriedly wiped the corners of their clothes. Wei Ye did not pay attention to it, and also said two sentences, "If you have to often whisk the red sleeves, you should also be better than a blue sarong" self-deprecating. The crowd laughed.

However, these two poems also have other statements, and Song Wenying's "Records of the Continuing Xiang Mountains" mentions:

The virgin Wei Ye, who looks good and is sensitive, is noble in the old festival. Fengge Sheren Sun Only and Ye Dun Mu Su Zhi Old, Yin Jing Zhaori, Send Noshi said things in the house, Ye Hezhi, its last cloud: "See tim Su Ya Su small, Sui Xuan should be Pei Shanshan." "Tim Su Chang'an famous prostitute also, Sun quite loved. One day, Sun ZhaoTian su said, "How about the Wei virgin E'er Fang Su Xiao?" Tim Su Yue: "The name of the virgin poem is good for the world, and it is not as good as Su Xiao. "Sun Daxi, with a poem, Tim Su Xi as if he had received a treasure, within an night, Chang'an recited." Tim Su is not seen in the wilderness, deeply admired, but a person who seeks good writing, and his poems are written on the wall of the hall and dazzling to people. When Ji Jiye arrived in Chang'an, Sun Xin heard about it and invited him to buy a mansion, and the others did not know it. There are good deeds who have secretly summoned the Tim Su family, without saying their surname, and Tim Su has seen the wild style and is rude, because he does not go forward. Ye Kuo raised his head to see the inscription on the wall, and Tim Su said: "Wei Chushi saw the work of fame." Ye Shu did not answer. Naiso wrote in a poem by The Side Bieji: "Whoever writes my crazy verses to the Tim Su Embroidery Pavilion, if you flick the red sleeves at leisure, you should be better than a bis sarong." "Tim Su knew that it was wild, and he was treated with great courtesy."

Wei Ye was a man who did not look good, but his poetry was very famous. He and Sun Sheren are old friends, and once wrote "Seeing and Sending with Sun Sheren of Chang'an":

Chang'an Jun to The Transformation Ofe, Xia Shaoyan steamed less cold. Then the envoy Guan Xuan went to the Moon Pavilion and persuaded the farmer to enter the smoke. The dragon pond is like a brocade flower, and the quail field is like a cloud crop. See said Tim Su Ya Su small, Sui Xuan should be Pei Shanshan.

In this poem, the famous prostitute Tiansu of Chang'an is mentioned as a reference, compared to Su Xiaoxiao (the first prostitute of the Southern Dynasty). Sun Sheren laughed and gave the poem to Tim Su. "Tim Su was as happy as a treasure, and within an night, Chang'an recited it." The man of the wind and moon just happens to be attached to the elegance, and his reputation is flourishing. Tian Su also "wrote a big book and his poems on the wall of the hall, showing off on people", and hung it on the wall of his house with a gold frame, showing off in front of people. "鬻", pronounced "desire", means to sell.

On this day, Wei Ye really went to Chang'an, and there was the "troublesome person",that is, the person who liked to watch jokes, who made an appointment to go to Tim Su, but did not tell Tim Su that this was Wei Ye, and as a result, Wei Ye really ate here in Tim Su because of his ugly looks. I was not happy, but as soon as I looked up and saw his poem hanging on the wall, he did not say a word, and asked for a pen and ink to write another poem:

Whoever wrote my crazy verses to Tim Su embroidery cabinet, If you have the red sleeves in your spare time, you should also be like a blue sarong.

Of course, these are just anecdotes contained in texts such as legends and novels, and everyone can be happy to see them, don't take them seriously.

According to Shen Kuo's "Mengxi Pen Talk":

The Shu people Wei Ye, who lived in seclusion and did not eunuchs, were good at poetry and were famous for their poetry. The residence is quite delicate, and many prominent people in the world swim with it, and Kou Zhongzhen especially loves it. Taste of the gift of Zhongzhong Shiyun: "It is good to go to heaven and be rich, but to be a god on the flat earth." "After the town of Zhongcheng Beidu, Summoning Noo placed under the door." There are prostitutes in the north, beautiful and lively, and the natives call them 'Sheng Zhang Ba'. Because of the government meeting, Zhongshu ordered beggars to write poems in the wild, and the poem of the wild gift is known: "Jun is born Zhang Ba of the Northern Province, and I am The Western Prefecture Mature Wei San." There is no laughter in front of the bottle, and it is half-baked and half-familiar. Sat down and laughed.

This is also a record of the story of Wei Ye and Kou Zhun and the singer, "Zhongyu" is Kou Zhun's nickname. Wei Ye once wrote a poem to persuade Kou Zhun to resign and go into hiding with him, "It is good to resign to heaven and become rich, but to come to the flat earth as a god." ”

At a wine banquet with Kou Zhun, there was a singer who looked very beautiful, but her expression was cold and unfamiliar, everyone called her "Sheng Zhang Ba", which was probably the dialect meaning of the local dialect "novice, unstable", Kou Zhun ordered her to find Wei Ye to ask for poetry, and Wei Ye opened his mouth:

Jun is born Zhang Ba of Northern Province, and I am Xizhou Wei San. There is no laughter in front of the bottle, and it is half-baked and half-familiar.

This is indeed quite humorous and interesting talented people.

Let's take a look at Wei Ye's masterpiece of the Eight Classics of Zheng'er, "The Seeker Doesn't Meet":

Looking for the truth mistakenly into Penglai Island, the fragrance does not move the pine flowers old. Caizhi has not returned, and the white clouds have not been swept everywhere.

This is a seven-word ancient style, fresh, plain, simple, and there are some unique places, such as the last sentence of "white clouds are everywhere unswered", the whole poem also has some Wang Wei's "people outside the poem" of the "realm of no self" feeling.

His near-body rhythmic poems also have excellent works, such as "The Wall of the Book Friend's House", which I will write on the wall of your house:

The da ren is light and lumpy, and lives in the forest spring. Wash the fish and swallow the ink, and cook the tea crane to avoid smoke. Sing the sundae, the old do not hate the flowing years. Those who meditate on idleness should also be the most biased by me.

This is a song that is flat and closed, perfectly in line with the law, and the five laws of the "one first" part of the flat water rhyme.

The anecdotes and masterpieces of Wei Ye, who laughed at the singer, but was called a true immortal hermit by Lu You

The first link, writing friends like themselves, do not care about the wealth of official positions, live in a place more like mountains and rivers, quiet places.

The jaw is linked, detailing the leisure of the hermit life. Because of the perennial writing of poetry and the washing of bricks with spring water, the fish in the spring had to swallow ink; the hermit was a high person and a good tea ceremony, and the spiritual crane would automatically avoid it when cooking tea to protect its feathers. This couplet is very poetic, introducing fish and cranes, setting off the hermit's hobby of "plum wife crane", and at the same time using the ink-swallowing fish and the feather-loving crane to compare the hermit's self-improvement and self-cultivation.

The hermit was valued by the imperial court, but he did not want to go out of the mountain, but gently and elegantly praised the current era, even if he grew old like this, he would not be dissatisfied with the passage of time.

Tail union, calm down to think of those who are busy stealing, or our state of mind is the most biased.

The whole poem is fresh and smooth, the battle is neat, and at the same time, the poetry is inherited and turned, and the maturity is flawless, and writes the joy of the secluded life, and the interest of himself and his friends who are not good at fame and fortune, and like to live a secluded life away from the world.

Wei Ye is a hermit among poets and a poet among hermits.
