Baiyunzhuang is located in Guanjiang Bank, Baiyun Street, Haishu District, Ningbo City, and was founded in the Ming Dynasty. It was originally the manor of Wan Tai, the head of the household department at the end of the Ming Dynasty, because his son Wan Si selected the "White Cloud Collection", known as Mr. Baiyun, and was buried here after his death, so it was named "Baiyun Zhuang".

In the seventh year of the Qing Kangxi Dynasty (1668), Huang Zongxi, a famous thinker in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties and a representative figure of the "Zhejiang Eastern School", was invited by Wantai and others to first live in The Guangji Street house in Wantai, then moved to Yanqing Temple, and in the ninth year of Kangxi (1670), moved to Baiyunzhuang to teach apprentices and open the "Witness Academy". During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Huang Zongxi's private disciple Quan Zuwang, in order to distinguish himself from Huang Zongxi's "Witness Academy" in Shaoxing, specially titled the word "Yongshang" and called it "Yongshang Witness Academy". Huang Zongxi (1610-1695) character Taichong, number Nanlei, known as Mr. Lizhou, Yuyao Huangzhupu people. He was knowledgeable and rigorous in his studies, advocated a style of study based on scripture, supplemented by historiography, and created the original "application of the scriptures to the world" as the purpose, forming the Zhejiang East School, a historical school that occupies an important position in China's academic history, and cultivating a large number of academic talents, including the "cloth historian" Wan Sitong, and the famous historian and literary scholar Quan Zuwang.

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the academy was abolished. In 1934, The Yongren Yang Juting (Yi Cheng) and others visited the old site of the college and the former residence and raised funds to restore it. Baiyunzhuang now covers an area of about 4,000 square meters, consisting of Yongshang Witness Academy, Wan's Former Residence and Wan's Cemetery, with four buildings of about 650 square meters, of which the hard hilltop buildings on the east-facing east and the north-facing south are each two entrances, one Ming Dynasty Taimen, the contemporary calligrapher Mr. Sha Menghai inscribed "Baiyunzhuang" for the Taimen, and the main hall corridor hangs the ancestral wangshu Baiyunzhuang Yang Lianyun: "The servant directs the world's affairs, - driving the ancient book." Zhuang Neibi "Zhejiang Academic Culture Exhibition" and "Wan's Historical Sites Exhibition". On the west side of the academy are the tombs of Wan Bang Fu, Wan Si Xuan, Wan Si Chang and Wan Shi Biao.
