In the early years of the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Bang took his brother Liu Xi as the acting king and made the capital wangcheng. The following year, the Xiongnu attacked the dynasty, and Liu Xi abandoned the country and killed himself. However, the location of the daidi was important, and the Han court took Liu Heng, the son of Gao Zu, as the acting king, that is, the future famous Emperor Wen of Han. Liu Heng decided to move the capital to Jinyang (Taiyuan), and from then on, the imperial capital became the county seat of Dai County. Then in the second year of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (580), Ulju was established and the city of Ulju was built, which is now the county seat of Wei County. Daiwangcheng gradually became a poor and remote area.

Today's Daiwang Town, which is the site of the ruins of the Imperial City of the time, is still surrounded by continuous rammed earth walls, with a residual height of 3-12 meters, intermittently nearly 10 kilometers, and there are a large number of Han tombs distributed around the city site, which shows the prosperity of the Imperial City of that era. In the town, you can also see many old temples and houses, and the earthen walls and fort gates of the fortress still tell the history of this ancient city outside the Seychelles.
