Starting from the Lin Jia Pu Ranger Point, follow the forest trail to the Nanzhai Public House (located on the main ridge of Gaoligong Mountain) at an altitude of nearly 3,200 meters.
This forest road has an open landscape, a large altitude span, and a high diversity of vegetation, so its bird diversity is also very rich. Common birds include white egrets, brown-breasted bamboo chickens, woodpeckers, greek ibises, phoenixes, sparrowhawks, wonderbirds, sunbirds, etc.; in high altitudes, there is a chance to see rare birds such as red-bellied horned pheasants and fire-tailed green grebes. This route is very suitable for natural observation activities such as bird watching, but it is physically demanding.

A centralized bird monitoring point at the Tengchong Pipe Protection Sub-bureau of Gaoligong Mountain. Rare birds include spotted ibis, golden-naped black finch, red-browed pine finch, fire-tailed sunbird, burgundy suzaku, broad-billed wagtail warbler, brown-bellied partridge, chestnut-bellied stork and so on.
