A foreign couple has been inseparable for 70 years after being hospitalized for 100 days due to illness and reunited in a nursing home

According to the British "Mirror" report, when the two elderly couples who have been inseparable for 70 years in the United Kingdom recently reunited after 100 days apart, the people in the nursing home were tearful.

Joyce and George grew up in Middlesbrough as next-door neighbors who have been together since Joyce was 17 years old and married four years later. The couple was admitted to the hospital in June, after they were living in a bungalow in Marton. After being discharged from the hospital, the two elderly were reunited with the help of staff at a nursing home in Middlesbrough. They hadn't seen each other for more than three months and cried the first time they held hands. Joyce, 87, said of their reunion, "I felt like a teenage girl in that moment. I've been in love with him since I was 17. I can't express how happy I am to see him again. I told him that no matter what happened, I would always be by his side. He hugged me tightly and said he would never leave me again for the rest of his life. Now we sat quietly holding each other's hands. George, 89, said: "When we first got together, they all said we wouldn't last long, but now we've been together for 70 years. ”

Joyce said: "I have always admired him. They say our relationship won't last because George doesn't look like someone who can stay in a relationship for a long time, but they're all dead wrong. We were only separated during his service, so it's really sad to be apart for so long. We don't have children, but we've been together. I always remember my mother not being very satisfied when she first saw him, but he just looked at her and grinned, and from that moment on she melted. ”

Rachel White, of the nursing home's activities department, said: "Joyce came a day earlier than George and when she came in she told us she couldn't remember how many days they hadn't seen each other. Then the morning he came in, she said she felt like a little girl again, just like they did on their first date. She said she couldn't sleep with excitement and nervousness. Everyone present was impressed. Joyce cried as soon as he saw him, and when we tried to get them closer to each other, they all held out their hands and wanted to hold hands and hug. It was a heartwarming moment... We look forward to their return home soon and continuing their fairytale life. Asked how to keep a long-term marriage secret, Joyce said: "You can have differences of opinion, but sometimes you have to stand your ground and stand with each other." He was a good husband.
