General of the Central Military Commission - Wang Liusheng

Comrade Wang Liusheng, a native of Pingxiang, Jiangxi, joined the Red Army in 1930, joined the Communist Youth League that year, and transferred to the Communist Party of China in 1932. During the agrarian revolutionary war, he successively served as the commander of the department and the instructor, and participated in five "anti-encirclement and suppression" battles and the 25,000-mile Long March. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as battalion instructor, detachment political commissar, regiment chief of staff, regimental political commissar, sub-district political commissar, regimental commander and political commissar, and successively participated in the Battle of Pingxingguan, the Battle of Guangyang Ambush, the Battle of Noon town, the three victories of the Three Battles of Jinzhong, the "Anti-Sweeping" of Fanba, the Battle of Lunan, the Battle of Tiefo, the Battles of Suyangshan, Guanqiao, Canal, Zaozhuang, and the battles of Northern Jiangsu and Lunan. During the Liberation War, he successively served as regimental political commissar, divisional political commissar, and director of the military political department, and led his troops to participate in several major battles and campaigns in Tengxian, Zaozhuang, Subei, Luoyang, Jinan, Huaihai, and The Crossing of the River, as well as the liberation of Jintang and Zhoushan Islands. After the founding of New China, he successively served as political commissar of the military, second political commissar of the Shanghai Garrison District, director of the Political Department of the Nanjing Military Region, deputy political commissar and director of the Political Department of the Nanjing Military Region, first political commissar of the Wuhan Military Region and second secretary of the Hubei Provincial CPC Committee.

  Comrade Wang Liusheng is a deputy to the Fourth National People's Congress, a deputy to the Eighth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, an alternate member of the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Central Committees, and a member of the Central Advisory Committee. He was awarded the rank of Major General in 1955.

  Comrade Wang Liusheng sacrificed his life and forgot his death during the war years, took the lead as a soldier, and made positive contributions to the cause of Chinese people's liberation. During the period of socialist revolution and socialist construction, a great deal of fruitful work was done to strengthen the building of the armed forces. During the 10-year period, he waged a resolute struggle against Lin Biao and the "Gang of Four" group. He supported the line, principles and policies since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Party, and consciously aligned himself with the Party Central Committee ideologically, politically, and in action. His upright style, unity with comrades, honesty in performing official duties, and solid work have fully embodied the lofty ideological realm and lofty moral sentiments of the old communists.

  Comrade Wang Liusheng died in Beijing on December 22, 1995 at the age of 78 due to ineffective medical treatment.
