Shen Wen - a cultural relics donation that was lost in the "Annals of Wu Hufan"

author:The Paper

At the end of the year, Du Men avoided the epidemic, read Wu Hufan's "Traces of Words in the Song Dynasty" to record the cultural relics hidden in meijing bookstore, and on a whim, he successively searched for the original objects to cross-examine them, and in addition to the modification of the words and sentences, he was quite happy. In the process of Wu Hufan's compilation and printing of "Traces of Words of the Song Dynasty", there have been many revisions to the word manuscript, and several examples have been selected and drafted into a draft, which was published in the Southern Metropolis Daily on February 8, 2020. There are naturally many similar examples, and they are not listed one by one, such as the second volume of "High Balcony, Liu Yu Painting Wang Xuanzhu Lan Xuetang Picture Scroll":

North Guo Lianyun, East Linqi Water, Lantang Snow Fast Xiaqing. Flying swallow nest beam, poor pool has been shocked several times. The autumn rain of the sycamores wept, the morning dust was empty, and the Golden Valley was silent. The remaining deserted tombs. Where the poplars are weeping, there are the warblers. Abandoned garden trees are tired of soldiers, and they are afraid of Chuan Tu Yong, Taibai Shimeng. When the day comes again, the spring breeze is full of greenery. Hiraizumi flowers xizhou tears, sprinkled with idleness, is sentimental. Cut the eyes. Miao Mao canglang, splendid Wucheng.

"High Balcony" in "Traces of Yu Song Words"

This picture is now in the Nanjing Museum, and the inscription of Wu Hufan is at the end. Comparing the two surveys, it can be found that the inkblot of "East Linqi Water" is "East Forest Counting Rain", "Poor Pond Several Degrees" Ink is "Ordinary Several Degrees", "Autumn Rain Copper Camel Weeping" Ink is "Autumn Garden Copper Hua Committee", "Jingu Is Silent". The remaining deserted tomb "ink blot this work" is silent. Fu Huang Smoke", "Shu Chuan Tu Yong" Ink Blot Ben Work "Remembering the Dream of Ren Chuan Painting", "When the Day Comes Again, Spring Wind Picks Up Cui Yingying" Ink Blot Ben Work "Blow to the Spring Wind, Come Back to Pick Up Cui Ying", "Cut Eyes" Ink Blot Ben Work "Remember the Year", "Splendid Wu Cheng" Ink Blot Book "With Treasure Wu Cheng", there are as many as eight or nine text modifications.

In front of this volume, there are four words "Lan Xuetang Tu" in the introduction of Zhu Yizun's book, and there is Pan Yijun's inscription across the water. According to Wu Yucang's article "Mr. Chen Gucen and the Cultural Relics Management Committee of Southern Jiangsu", between 1951 and 1952, Wang Xingbo, Zhu Xiyuan and others restored the East Garden of the Humble Administrator's Garden, that is, according to Wu Hufan's donation of this map as a model. Now, as soon as you enter the Humble Administrator's Garden, the first person who catches your eye is the restored Lan Xue Tang, and the plaque of "Lan Xue Tang" hanging in the hall is made of the three characters in the introduction of "Lan Xue Tang Map".

"Lan Xuetang Diagram" Zhu Yizun inscription introduction

After Liu Yu's drawings, there are Song Xing, You Dong, Chen Xuesu, Chen Xuesi, Zhang Dashou, Mao Jinfeng, Gu Shaomin, Hui Shiqi inscriptions, Shen Deqian's "Records of Lan Xuetang", Pan Yijun, Han Chong, Wang Ruyu, Mao Qingshan, Wu Hufan's "Records of Wu's Calligraphy and Paintings", that is, the seventh volume of "Liu Xian Period Painting Lan Xuetang Picture Scroll" (see Wu Hufan Manuscripts, pp. 515-519). Wu Hufan himself inscribed two inscriptions in the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937) Ding Ugly Meng Chun and NongChen September (October 1952). The Wu's Calligraphy and Paintings only records its 1937 inscription, while the 1952 inscription containing the term "High Balcony" is not recorded.

In fact, the value of the word "High Balcony" is still secondary, and the 1952 inscription involves Wu Hufan's initiative to donate cultural relics to the Southern Jiangsu District Cultural Relics Management Committee (hereinafter referred to as "Southern Jiangsu Cultural Management Committee"), which seems to be more important, which is missing from wang shuzhong and other newly compiled "Wuhufan Annals". "High Balcony" has two lines of small print under the word plate:

In the scroll, there are Xu Zijin Shu Tao Jian Qian words, that is, and its rhyme book is later. In the year of Nongchen, southern Jiangsu Wu Chinese had a custody meeting, because it was a gift of scrolls, hoping to be long-lasting.

After the words of "High Balcony", there is a sentence of "Chongyang Exhibition Day, Wu Hufan is also inscribed", followed by two paragraphs of Wu Hufan's supplementary notes, one of which is cloudy: "At the same time, the four cultural relics were donated at the same time, and the inscriptions of the three generations of Jade Wat, Shang Zu Dingding, and Northern Song Dynasty Lü Gongbi were inscribed with stones and volumes." Attached. "The year 1952. Founded in October 1949, the Southern Jiangsu Cultural Management Association initially operated in Wuxi, and moved to Suzhou in November 1951, with the current Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Zhongwang Mansion as its office. In the past years, he asked Shen Xie Yuanzhang about the past of the Southern Jiangsu Cultural Management Committee, and he said that during his work in the Cultural Management Committee, he had been ordered to take Shen Zhou's "Exploring Meitu of Zhutang Temple" to The Axis to Huhu Fan in Shanghai, but there is no trace of Wu Hufan on the original map today. Yesterday, he specifically verified Wu Hufan's donation to Shen Zhang, and today he replied:

Wu Hufan donated a total of three pieces: first, the Shang Dynasty Yugui, second, the inscription of Song Lu Gongbi, and third, Ming Wang Xinyi's "Lan Xuetang Map". Who took these three things, or who brought them from Shanghai, because I was in the book group, this matter was handled by the cultural relics group, and it was impossible to know.

Shen Xieyuan note

Since Shen Zhang was not the person responsible for this matter, his memory was not completely accurate and could be used for reference. Wu Hufan claimed that among the four cultural relics donated, zu Dingding of the Shang Dynasty was missing. On October 25, 1953, the Xinhua Daily's report on the "Extensive Collection of Ancient Cultural Relics and Books in Southern Jiangsu" can be used as circumstantial evidence:

The Cultural Relics Management Committee of Jiangsu Province's Southern Jiangsu Province has extensively collected ancient books and cultural relics, and has collected more than 24,000 cultural relics and 450,000 books in the past three years.

The culture of the area south of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province is relatively developed, and after liberation, many precious books and cultural relics were accepted or cleaned out of warehouses in various places. At the same time, there are many collectors from all over the world. The Cultural Relics Management Committee has set up special or concurrent management agencies in areas with many cultural relics, which are responsible for collecting and preserving cultural relics and heritage, and also pay attention to the selection and purchase of books and cultural relics scattered in used bookstores or antique shops in the market. So far, the Cultural Relics Management Committee of Jiangsu Province's Southern Jiangsu Province has collected more than 24,000 pieces of stone tools, oracle bones, pottery, bronzes, jade, weapons, musical instruments, bricks and stones, inscriptions, calligraphy and painting, and fine arts and crafts in terms of cultural relics. Among them, there are more than 10,000 fine works such as Zu Dingding of the Shang Dynasty, Gong Gong Mao Bell of the Zhou Dynasty, Yang Huizhi of the Tang Dynasty, Luohan of The Wood Carving of Yang Huizhi of the Tang Dynasty, the Landscape Axis of Shen Zhou and Tang Yin of the Ming Dynasty, and the "Canglang Pavilion Map" of Wang Shigu of the Qing Dynasty. Among the books collected over the past three years, there are tang dynasty scriptures, Gu Tinglin's manuscript of the Book of Guoli Disease in Tianxia County, Ke Peiyuan's manuscript of Karmalan Zhi, Yuan Ben's "Liu Zongyuan Collection", Qing 'Zhao Huifu's Diary ( which contains a large number of historical materials of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom ) , and 1,177 kinds of provincial capitals and county departments across the country. After the Cultural Relics Management Committee of southern Jiangsu District searched for these books and cultural relics, it hired experts to identify, sort out and register, classify and number, and store them in the warehouse.

The "Zhou Dynasty Gong Gong Yan Bell" is the treasure of the Town Temple of The Sacred Grace Zen Temple in Suzhou Guangfu Xuan Tomb Mountain, and the "Traces of the Words of the Song Dynasty" Volume 1 and the Second Book of "Touching the Fish" says that "the attendants of the First Neshi Gongyou Deng Wei, Su Sheng'en Temple, and Chen Ziqing and the Tuo Gong Gong Xiang Bell" all refer to this bell. "Gu Tinglin's "Tianxia County Guoli Disease Book" manuscript" is the old collection of Wu Dayi, in the early years of the Republic of China, through the Kunshan celebrity Fang Huan (the only) introduction, Wu Neshi (BenShan) at a low price to kunshan Tinglin Ancestral Hall, and then once belonged to the Kunshan Library collection, in the 1950s transferred to the southern Jiangsu Cultural Management Committee collection, this matter was personally handled by Shen Xie Yuanzhang, who listened to it more than once. In addition, the collation and registration of "1177 kinds of records of the national provincial capitals, prefectures and counties" is also handled by Shen Zhang, and the Nanjing Museum now has a volume of the "Catalogue of Fang Zhi of the Cultural Relics Management Committee of the Southern Jiangsu District" compiled by himself, which Shen Yinmo has inscribed and Gu Jiegang made a preface, and the words "Printed in October 1953" are sealed inside, which echoes the report of the Xinhua Daily quoted on October 25 of the same year. Unfortunately, the catalogue could not be officially printed that year, until 2018, when Yu suggested that the full text be copied into the "Shen Xieyuan Anthology", more than 65 years after its completion.

In October 1952, Shen Xieyuanzhang, the person who contacted Wu Hufan to handle the donation, did not remember, but wu Hufan left a record in the inscription after "Lan Xuetang Map":

In September, Brother Tu Xuqiu brought the four cultural relics he had donated to Su and handed them over to the meeting. It also includes the enlarged carved stone of the manuscript of Pan Jingshu's book "Green All over the Pond Grass" and the engraved stone of the songxue "Zen Post" copied by the former room, which is also presented to the meeting and remembered.

It can be seen from this that the manager was Xu Huqiu (1908-1978), and this donation may be related to the fact that Gu Jiegang, Wang Dong, Wang Peiyi, Gu Tinglong, Pan Jingzheng, Sun Boyuan and others came to the Wu family to discuss the cultural construction of Suzhou on October 6 of that year (see Gu Jiegang's Diary). In addition to donating four cultural relics such as YuGui, Zu Dingding, "Lan Xue Tang Tu", and Song Lu Gongbi Inscription, Wu Hufan will also enlarge the carved stone to commemorate the original wife Pan Jingshu's carved two rough stones - the manuscript of the word "Green Edge Pond Grass", and the carved stone of Lady Pan's "Orchid Pavilion Preface" by Lady Pan Mengfu, and donate them to the Southern Jiangsu Cultural Management Committee. The manuscript of the "Thousand Autumn Years" is widely known for its miniature printing in the book "Green Pond Grass", and as to whether Pan's "Preface to the Orchid Pavilion" is "Pan Jingshu's Twenty-Five-Year-Old Linlanting Narrative", he did not dare to speculate before seeing the original stone or the Tuoben.

In the book "Green Everywhere in the Pond Grass", Pan Jingshu's thousand autumn words are condensed

In the autumn of 1955, due to institutional adjustment, the Southern Jiangsu Cultural Management Committee moved to Nanjing, merged with the Northern Jiangsu Cultural Management Committee, and the preparation for the construction of the Jiangsu Provincial Museum was unsuccessful, and the staff of the original text management committee and the cultural relics and books collected were classified into the Nanjing Museum and the Nanjing Library respectively. Shen Xieyuanzhang was transferred to the Nanjing Library, and the manuscript of Gu Yanwu's "Book of The Disease of the Heavenly Counties and The State" was included in the Nanjing Library. Xu Huqiu was transferred to the Nanjing Museum, and wu Hufan's donation of the "Lan Xuetang Tu" volume was included in the Nanjing Museum, and the Collection of Ding Ding and zong women's square pots (a pair) that he donated to the Nanjing Museum a few years later fulfilled his original wish of "hoping for a long time".

In October 1952, this cultural relics donation was compared to 1955, Wu Hufan donated the "Seventy-two Yuan fan" volume to the Nanjing Museum, in 1956 Huang Gongwang's "Leftover Mountain Map" volume, Wang Meng's "Pine Window Reading Yi Tu" volume, etc. were transferred to the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Management Committee (with Wu Dayi's "Linxi Gang DaiXi West Lake Map" volume, now in the Zhejiang Provincial Museum), in 1959 the "Seventy-two Yuan Fan" volume, Shen Zhen's "Qiulin Guan Waterfall Map" axis, Wang Pet's "Spring Mountain Map" axis donated to the Suzhou Cultural Management Association (now the Suzhou Museum), and in the late 1950s, the "Four OuBaoji" was donated to the Suzhou Cultural Management Association (now the Suzhou Museum). It is likely that after the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wu Hufan donated cultural relics to the state for the first time, which is undoubtedly worth remembering.
